The United States Capitol is under siege by Trump Supporters

but what are people getting out of voting for biden other than getting trump out of office?

what did people get out of voting for clinton or Obama?

just curious as to how people see it and why.

Several people have made it clear that they believed getting Trump out of office was in itself reason enough to vote for Biden. I can see that line of reasoning because I believe Trump really is just that bad.

That said, the fact that Biden was elected over a more progressive candidate shows that the Democratic party ain't really about moving the country forward. They are satisfied with just being better than the Reps.

ok....

just so that im clear...you feel the dems dont want no one to move forward?

the need to criticize dems is because of what they dont do for black people right?
but if dems dont do shit for black people and repubs dont either ....arent they they same? since no one is doing shit for black people?
It’s perfectly fine to criticize dems, but let’s keep it to substantive issues. They criticize them at a Fox News level. It reads more as hate than criticism.

If they wanted it to get better they’d criticize important things and actually offer up thoughts on how they feel it can be done better. But when you ask them for those thoughts you get crickets or the typical “the whole system is corrupt and has to be burned down.”

Or it could be that Bernie didn’t play the game well enough to get enough support. He thinks everyone should agree with him because he’s righteous and it’s their fault for not seeing the light.

And don’t say it was the party or establishment because if Trump can beat out the establishment in the Republican Party, he could have beat out the establishment in the Democratic Party if he appealed to enough voters.

I voted for him in the primary by the way.

I personally feel that most politicians on either side are corrupt, and that's because of the system. People in Congress actually spend as much time begging donors for money as they do actually pushing things through.

There are lots of differences between the parties. The Dems are generally more progressive on on social issues, less war hawkish, and more willing on spending money to help the common man/woman.

That said, most of them are still corrupt, so while they might be better than the Reps, they aren't always particularly good. For example, a lot of Dems will claim to be anti-war, but they are also getting paid by defense contractors. So, while they are claiming to be anti-war they constantly vote to increase defense spending and vote in favor of unnecessary wars.

So to answer your question, I won't say they don't want anyone to move forward. They are fine with incremental growth as long as they are able to serve their own interests and preserve the part of the status quo that benefits them.

great....thank you for being patient with me.

so dems are able to move forward when it benefits them and repub move forward when it benefits them. but dems would try to throw a bone to the people and repub would only help those in their party?

It's not about Bernie playing the game right or wrong. The Democratic party actively opposes him. Remember we know for a fact they cheated in 2016. And this past primary when Bernie was actually leading, we know a fact that the corporate democrats were colluding behind his back to get a bunch of people to drop out at a crucial moment so that those votes would go to Biden.

On top of that, the mainstream media always supports the corporate Dems. People from MSNBC have already come out and said that they were given instructions to pain Bernie in a bad light and to practically ignore Yang and other candidates. The Democratic party does the same dirty shit to progressive candidates like Bernie that the Reps do to Dems.

so the repub eat the dems and the dems eat each other?

The Reps don't want to move forward at all. That's why they are called conservatives. They want to keep things the way they are. The only people they really help are the rich. Most of the people in their base fighting to keep them in power were probably fucked over in some way or the other by the Reps.

Make no mistake. I don't think both sides are the same. I thing a lot of the Dems are selfish and corrupt. At this point most of the Reps have shown themselves to be either batshit crazy or pure evil.

when you say most....could i ask for your estimated percentage?

Which is why most people walked away from Hillary in 2016. Bernie never got a fair shot, and since Donnie was the opponent, half the country just said "fuck it", and let the chips fall where they may.

I don't know enough about all the people in Congress to say. Let's just say that when the Reps do some shit like pass crazy tax cuts for the rich that they know will fuck everyone but the rich over, only like 2 or 3 Reps at most every oppose them. And only like 2 or 3 of them have consistently stood against the vile shit that Trump has done.

so are we talking a classism issue at the end of the day?

No because both the Dems and Reps are full of a bunch of rich people. They are both guilty of classist shit. It's just that the Dems will throw some crumbs to the poor while the Reps will steal from the poor and use racism as a cover.
but i would assume the dems benefit from white supremacy and racism aswell.

They do in two ways actually. They'll do shit like push the '94 crime bill which they know will affect certain groups more than others, but they'll also point out the racism displayed by the Reps and try to use it to present themselves as being the racially just party.

At the end of the day, our government isn't a ruling body. It's a business. Both sides make what they believe are the best business moves regardless of how it affects their constituents.

sorry yall for my remedial understanding of all this....im trying.

but someone said earlier....that supporting the repub is supporting racism and candance owens and yadda yadda..

but if you support the dems ...dont you support the clinton crime bill and the super predator ideologies?

arent both bad?

what am i seeing thats wrong here?

There is nothing to assume. It's 100% fact that they do.
cool....so they both do shit to hurt black people and profit off laws designed to harm us.

so why vote democrat over republican? outside of this trump shit.

I don't know I'm registered as a independent. So I don't fuck with either political party. I do more donating to campaigns and trying to put people together locally where I can have their ear once in office than I do voting.

I didn't vote Biden and I didn't vote for Trump. I left that shit blank. It's been fuck both of them and it's still fuck both of them.

I don't have shit to say about Biden right now because he ain't in office. Once he's in office if he fucks up I will speak on it. If he does something right I will give him his credit.

IMO until he in office and running the show I ain't got shit to say about him.
