COMMUNITY The Stand Up Comedy Thread

Its dope a lot of these comedians doing specials for youtube. Been listening a lot to podcasts and a lot of the reasoning is streaming sites arent interested in buying the specials. They will work deals out with comedians but they wont buy and license ones that are already created and never been seen. Same with HBO and Showtime. Word is Amazon is buying up specials and airing them on Prime though. Mark Normand did pretty well in the last 3 months hes already got 2million views. I dont know how much that equals out to for payment, but with the ads and everything it might be a decent paycheck. At least enough to cover production cost i would think, then hes able to reach literally everybody and build up his fan base.

Doug Stanhope released a new special a month or 2 ago but i havent seen it yet.

It was on somethin strange like vimeo or some shit.

I tried Cyberflix but no streams

Joe List is the newest comedian to release a special on Youtube.

4 Days, almost 400k Views. This youtube strategy is a real good look for a lot of these touring comedians trying to break through.

Finally got to the new Louis CK special.

I think its his best one.

Holding #1 spot for 2020 so far

Watched Stanhopes new special too.

I could see why it wasnt picked up by netflix or amazon.

Not gonna say he bombed but it was a slow start to the show.
