Not many females are fans of real rap in terms of lyrics. We all remember the classic line: One chick told me all she listen to is beats/Thank God for 9th.
Plus, younger, less mature women just don't have the capacity to keep up and you need a trained ear for Rhapsody.
But we've been here before: Jean Grae, Bahamadia, Lady of Rage, etc. Talented women that had no desire of fitting the oversexualized stereotype of a Kim, Fox, Nick or a Belcalis. Different toilet, same shit. Sex sells.
Rhapsody is dope, not just as a female rapper, but as a rapper period. Her subject matter is mature which doesn't always translate to sales.
