This and Night Shift were the soundtrack of an era of my life just after high school when I used to be hanging out in squats in manhattan with crackheads and hookers. I used to have a discman and had to make sure nobody tried to steal it. Fun times.
Not to be like pop-up video or anything but this song has an interesting story to it. Boy George and the Jamaican dude in the band were secretly dating but dude was in the closet because of his family and culture so there was a lot of tension in the band because of it. If you know that all the lyrics take on a whole different meaning.
Boy George was basically outing the dude on a hit record.
