The fucked up thing is, this is the middle east. There arent any good regimes there. Turkey is just as bad as Iran, and Saudia Arabia is worse than both. But if the situation with Iran escalades, it will force the US to negotiate with Turkey for staging grounds for an attack and give Turkey more concessions.
 
On the flip side, there are armed groups all over Iran. The Kurds being one of them. The US could start working with them more and sharing intelligence with them, traffic some weapons to them, and have them start a civil war in Iran.

I hate Iran and for selfish reasons wanna see theat regime destroyed, but adding another unstable country to that area will be fucking terrible for the world.
