Funny that Bolton got fired for being too wild even for Trump.

Right or wrong, Trump wants to be isolationist and not have to police the world and be anti-war whereas Bolton is all about bomb mfers first and ask questions later.

Glad to hear Bolton is out. He is well known as a war monger, constantly pushing for aggressive weapons and war based responses. He doesn’t belong anywhere near military decision-making. War is a very last resort. To Bolton - it always seemed to be a first option.
I read bolton was only fired cause he thought inviting the taliban to camp david was a bad idea..which is it is, thats a god awful idea

Agreed. There's something to be said about the dysfunction of Trump's personnel and his revolving door, but getting him out of there is not a bad thing regardless of why it happened.

Unless Bolton was the voice of reason when it came to staying out of war, lol.

New Poll Reflects Trump’s Greatest Economy Fears — And It Clearly Hit A Nerve

President Donald Trump’s approval numbers on his overall job performance and handling of the economy are slumping, and it’s clearly hitting a nerve with the thin-skinned Commander-in-Chief.

According to the poll, Trump’s approval sits at 38 percent with 56 percent disapproving. That’s a whopping 9-point slide since July.

Approval of his handling of the economy stands at 46 percent approval to 47 percent disapproval, a net 10 point drop since July.

In a telling question from the poll, 6 in 10 people rated a recession as “somewhat likely” or “very likely” to hit next year.

Approval of Trump’s handling of the economy has long been a positive point amid a slew of negative opinions of his handling of other issues. Reports have revealed the President to be worried about the economy staggering, fearing that it’ll be a body blow to his reelection chances.

The ABC/Washington Post poll was conducted from September 2 to 5 among a random sample of just over 1,000 adults. The margin of error is 3.5 points.

Trump’s New Favorite News Network Sues Maddow, MSNBC For Defamation

President Trump’s new favorite news network filed a lawsuit against one of his most frequent media punching bags: Rachel Maddow and her employer, MSNBC.

One America News Network, a small, family-owned television network based in San Diego, California, is suing Maddow, MSNBC, NBC Universal and Comcast for $10 million, alleging Maddow defamed one of its employees.

In the suit, One America News (OAN) owner Herring Networks alleges that a week after its president Charles Herring contacted Comcast to question why the company wouldn’t carry OAN on its network, MSNBC — which is owned by Comcast — “ran a hit piece” on OAN. The “hit piece” referenced in the suit is the July 22 episode of the “Rachel Maddow Show” in which Maddow explained an OAN employee’s ties to Sputnik News, a Russian state-owned media outlet. OAN writer Kristian Rouz has written as a freelancer for Sputnik News for the last four years.

“In this case, the most obsequiously pro-Trump right-wing news outlet in America really literally is paid Russian propaganda,” Maddow said during the show in question. “Their on-air U.S. politics reporter is paid by the Russian government to produce propaganda for that government.”

Herring Networks argues Maddow defamed OAN and Rouz with those remarks. In the suit Rouz says he’s “never written propaganda, disinformation, or unverified information.”

A spokesperson for Maddow’s show did not immediately return TPM’s requests for comment.

DNC, ABC News Tell 2020 Candidates Not To Swear During The Upcoming Debate

The Democratic National Committee and ABC News would like the 2020 candidates to please keep it clean on the debate stage this week.

CNN reported on Tuesday that the DNC and ABC News, the network hosting the third Democratic debate, have sent advisories to participating candidates telling them not to swear when they face off against each other on Thursday night.

The memo warned that ABC News won’t be able to edit out “foul language” because the debate will be broadcast in real time without any delay.

“Candidates should therefore avoid cursing or expletives in accordance with federal law and FCC guidelines,” the note said, according to CNN.

This is reportedly the first time the campaigns have gotten this warning.

The advisory, while sent to all Democratic candidates, may have been directed at Beto O’Rourke, who’s been openly cursing on the campaign trail since August in response to President Donald Trump’s racist comments and the recent shootings that’ve roiled the Democrat’s home state of Texas.

ABC News declined to comment.

The debate will be held at 8 PM EST on ABC News. Reporters George Stephanopoulos, David Muir, Linsey Davis, and Jorge Ramos are slated to serve as moderators.

Turns Out The White House Was Behind Ross’ NOAA Threats After All

On President Donald Trump’s orders, acting White House chief of staff Mick Mulvaney told Commerce Secretary Wilbur Ross to strong-arm the NOAA into supporting President Donald Trump’s baseless insistence that Alabama was in Hurricane Dorian’s path.

Trump had been complaining about a tweet from the Birmingham, Alabama National Weather Service office correcting his false statements for days, according to the Washington Post.

That griping led Mulvaney to press Ross to obtain a public disavowal of the Birmingham statement from acting NOAA Administrator Neil Jacobs, as first reported by the New York Times.

Ross reportedly called Jacobs on Friday and threatened him and other political staffers with termination should they not obey. Later that day, an unsigned statement went up on the NOAA website criticizing the Birmingham office for speaking in “absolute terms.”

After news broke that Commerce Department Inspector General Peggy Gustafson was looking into the unsigned statement, Senate Democrats wrote her to specifically ask that she see if White House officials were directly involved.
