The Official World Politics Thread

Iono about compromised.. but it feels a bit cheap to me that Kamala announced on MLK day and Booker announced on the 1st day of Black History Month.

Feels like really cheap and obvious ass pandering to me... and unnecessary.

I'll stay tuned for debates and ultimately to see where they lie on the issues tho...

Just seen this.

Not sure how I feel about this just yet. We might need a black politics thread where we post potential candidates and their history, who may be well suited to address our interests.

Booker is compromised

Genuine Question

Y’all more interested in the extent to which a candidate’s political record is spotless -

Or

The extent to which they can affect positive change for our community and the country.

No such thing as a polotician with a spotless record.

What I don't like about him is he thinks police beatings/murders can be resolved by "looking at the data". Went on to talk about how we need to address what they go through and see on the job to prevent them from beating/killing people.

I have a problem with that because it deflect the real reason these situatio s occur and play the ptsd angle. If it were a ptsd or stress issue, we'd see whites beaten/murdered at similar rates.

Yet very little of that stress seems to manifest when they getting cussed out and assaulted by fellow whites.

INB4 niggas act like its a crime that we don't blindly accept every black face thrown in front of us.

Hopefully the thread doesn't go down that road. We SHOULD be questioning and scrutinizing every black candadite. We already know what the devils are up to. But we gotta lot of room for improvement in reocgnizing those who look like us but aint for us.

Yeah. I need to further research his comments, but hearing your portrayal you may want to consider if you are twisting his words.

IMO, We do need to

“ address what they go through and see on the job to prevent them from beating/killing people.”

Every police officer that has the propensity to harm a black suspect disproportionately from his white counterparts; is not a viscerally bigoted racist.

Part of the problem involves centuries of biases that have been cultivated and built up over time. Its your run-of-the-mill white person whose racism operates at a subconscious level.

The outcomes in these situations are categorically reprehensible, but the causes are nuanced.

I’ll look into it, but it would seem that he generally wants to solve the issue.
