Nah, they gerrymanded the fuck out of the house districts and gave themselves a slight advantage but Mitch McConnell is right when it comes to state-wide and nation-wide elections; that Marjorie Green-Taylor/Herschel Walker style candidate ain't winning that. Dems were favored to keep the senate even before the Roe shit dropped, iirc.

Don't quote me on the Senate jawn, I don't check forecasts routinely. The party of the incumbent always loses ground in the midterms. Republicans doing well in the midterms would've just be par for the course, not America suddenly becoming a republican utopia.

Damn, that's true. Part of me still kind of feels like our institutions should be strong enough to hold off that sort of stuff but these folk aren't rational actors at all so normal assumptions should probably go out the window.
