Now that I think about it, they don't even need that role anymore. Nick Fury is basically the one that brought superheroes front and center, but the concept of superheroes has been established within the universe now. They don't need that guy to hold them together anymore. He hasn't even played that role for a while. He didn't even play a role in the last two Avengers movies.

at most I can think of a person who used to be out there in the field fighting at one point who steps back just to help manage egos and problem solve

But ehh who knows if they even need that

Nick fury is over after secret wars most likely

Yeah the Loki and Wandavision reactions should've switched.
 
I think Phase 4 is getting a bad rap. The movies and shows weren't as terrible as some are making it seem. I don't even think they were hit or miss to be honest. I think they just put more content out that wasn't meant to cater to everyone. The people making the Eternals and Ms. Marvel knew those weren't going to be universally loved. They weren't meant to be. Ms. Marvel can be watched by anyone, but it was really meant to appeal more to the teeny bopper crowd and give Muslims and Southeast Asians some representation. A lot of people ignored the series, but that doesn't make it bad. To me the only legit bad thing in Phase 4 was L&T. F&WS was a dud for me, but it wasn't bad. Everything else was decent to good. (I never watched She-Hulk or I Am Groot, so I can't speak on those)

I think Eternals wasn't a hit simply because it seems like they forgot about it in the MCU. It's like what happened in the movie didn't really happen. It's difficult to live up to Ragnarok
