The Official Dragon Ball Thread (RIP Akira Toriyama)

Didn't have dragon Ball rustling CTB 's jimmies on my 2024 ABW bingo card but here we are

Nah, both the Namek and Cell arcs were good. He phoned it in for the Buu arc, but to be fair, he originally intended to stop the series with the Namek arc but kept going because of pressure to do so.
Too much power scaling
Too many characters introduced to the point old ones fell by the wayside
New characters introduced with no real backstory or anything interesting (ginyu force, king cold, androids 16-18)
Nothing written for non saiyan characters outside of piccolo
guru and that stupid potential unlock ability
Horrible pacing when fighting frieza
Gohan turning SS2 over the death of.. Android 16
Goku blowing himself up with cell for no reason as a “send off”
Cell games where everybody got trained and dressed up to stand on the sideline and watch goku fight
Forgetting to draw tails

Etc

Shitty writing

Show showed nothing from the characters and who they are outside of saving the world

It was just “yo yamcha plays baseball now”

“Bulma is with vegeta now”

“Bulma invented exactly what we need”

Why was tien, yamcha, and chaotzu brought back to life if nothing was going to happen for those characters for the rest of the show?

Because they were characters from the previous series? Goku didn’t even hang out with them losers no more as soon as he grew up

Was too busy being dead or training
This dude Tien was missing all through the Buu saga and just shows up out the blue to get knocked out ASAP

None of them wanted to fight anymore. That is all goku wanted to do. They gave up after nappa and vegeta gave them the bizz. They knew they couldnt keep up. Now i do think DB super is not good writing. That series is not that great but i still watch/read it..

You haven't said I was wrong.
Man I'm still on the Frieza saga lol

I feel like these dudes been about to fight for the longest

I think I knocked out like ten eps one day and I was just passed his 2nd transformation 🫠

Bro tell me something interesting about yamcha post saibaman? Then tell me why he still appeared in that many eps

Wanna talk about how frieza was only in his 3rd form for like 2 eps of the show because toriyama was too lazy to keep drawing him in the manga?

Imagine if Toriyama didn’t waste time with adding characters every arc and giving old irrelevant characters dialogue and nothing to do and focused on having a core few characters with great character arcs and development lol

Why even show the ox king in DBZ? Puar was there as yamcha’s lover and that was
It

Why show yahirobi and bulma and roshi watch a fight through a crystal ball?!

Why!?

Tell me what’s the point of goten?
Sometimes a person, typically a woman, will have a child that's leaving the home and suddenly feel like they without. Empty nest syndrome. Anyway, to fill that void they typically have another child or get a pet

ChiChi chose another child🤷🏿‍♂️

Worked out well as her friend has a son a couple years older and they eventually become besties
