The official COVID-19/Coronavirus Discussion Thread...aka I hope I don't get the Rona

And wtf are Shannon and Skip talking about?

They're still bashing Kyrie for not taking the vaccine like the rest of his teammates.

'Might have to stop watching this show just off GP.

Do they really understand what they're saying?

MOST OF THE PLAYERS THAT CAUGHT COVID ARE FULLY VACCINATED!!!!!

If that was me I'd have to call in to the show and go off on them.

They're not making any kind of sense at all right now.

I’m so tired of this argument. People say no need to take the vaccine because vaccinated people catch Covid.

Well, duh!! Nobody has contended that a vaccinated person is safe from catching and transmitting Covid since before the Delta strain was identified. The latest assertion for getting the vaccine is to reduce severity of the illness s keep people out of the morgue and cemetery.

my friend is in the ER with covid … he got his booster two weeks ago

are yall ready to stop saying it protects you from severe illness? :smh:

no shade but that idea isnt holding up to well either nowadays.

i think theres been too many promises thrown around that arent realistic

how can they say it prevents severe illness when longterm covid symptoms have the potential to affect any and everybody

also severe illness is subjective is it not? a fever for 5 days is severe illness to me. sore limbs, trouble breathing, is severe illness.

Hope your friend recovers soon.

I was under the impression that for the most part the vaccine/booster DOES protect from severe illness.. it isnt a 100% thing tho of course so there are bound to be folks that still end up in the hospital.

What i'd like to know, which has been said in here already.. is the amount of people that are currently hospitalized and/or unfortunately passing away.. are they predominately vaccinated or unvaccinated

Y’all got me agreeing with Race.

you niggas is wrong.
So wrong

Kids don’t need it
To
Kids need it
To
Kids are filling up hospitals.

and vaxxed or unvaxxed is not a good argument when you don’t know a persons potential health background that would Turn they tv off either way.

this is all like fixing a car from the ground upwhile trying to get up the block.

1 - I didnt mention anything about children

2 - Just from a numbers standpoint, knowing whether more folks that are hospitalized or dying from COVID are vaccinated or unvaccinated is still a good indicator on whether the vaccine is working as it's supposed to or not

ok. I get it. Im just saying if the ONLY thing weve been given to combat covid is a vaccine wouldnt they try to push the narrative that the hospitals are filled with the unvaccinated?

idk I just dont see this being a pandemic of the unvaccinated anymore nor do i think the messaging is truthful in regards to unvaccinated ppl will only experience severe illness and/or death with this shit

seems like folks need to go back to the drawing board

Agreed that the messaging and the response overall is fucked and needs to be reassessed with peoples wellbeing in mind.. not back to business and profits

but I dont really fault them (scientist, doctors) that much because they are trying to figure this thing out in real time. I just hate how politicized everything is and how we live in a country that doesnt give a hot damn about its citizen body

i also hate how ppl still cant connect the dots on how the cdc and the mfing president are running a scam right before our very eyes

from 14 days to 10 days to 7 days to 5 days ??? lmao really?

to telling the vaccinated they can go back to a normal life and now they are getting sick and transmitting covid the same as everybody else

its like i cant trust any of this shit

the lack of transparency is a huge problem for me

I’m not trying to go against you. We been doing good.

but a complaint recently caused a recall of a drug from a top pharma company.
after they did some research and found glass in an injectable after dilution.

. Glass in your system is most likely a slow death sentence. But for that to get by so many regulatory steps to reach the public is very scary.

I have the inside on this and that’s why I was pissed a few days ago.

I've said this before, but the timelines of these news cycles tell the real story.

We had the number of new cases under control..............until the CDC said fully vaccinated people didn't have to wear masks anymore.

Shortly thereafter, stadiums and arenas were filling up with thousands of people for concerts and sporting events.........and then we saw a huge spike in new cases.

Hard to believe this is just coincidence.

Fast forward to the omicron variant.

When news of it first broke, CBS did a segment on it in which the reporter said that..........in the U.S............most of the omicron cases are in fully vaccinated people.

Considering what's going on in the NFL and NBA................with so many fully vaccinated people catching covid..............with all of the college bowl games being cancelled, again, with fully vaccinated players...........and especially considering how strict their health and safety protocols are............ I think it's safe to assume that there's something about this virus that targets the fully vaccinated.

Just like cases began to spike when people were told to stop wearing masks.................I'm wondering whether or not there's some correlation between vaccinated people getting booster shots............and the rise of the so-called "Omicron" variant.

I know with computers, if a piece of software or some other app or program is downloaded............it can expose a flaw in the operating system and/or firewall that can make the computer vulnerable to malware........computer viruses..........hacking........etc.

Have any of these so-called experts and/or regulatory agencies even considered the possibility that something about these booster shots could be making fully vaccinated people more susceptible to the Omicron variant???

I don't know man real clip.gif

Hard to believe that the omicron variant and new cases aren't somehow tied in to the booster shots.

Look, maybe they are.......maybe they aren't..........but I don't think we can dismiss the possibility.

It's definitely something worth looking into.

Like @Inori said, it’s not 100% but your chances are better by being vaxxed than not, according to the experts of course.

Edit: Prayers up for your friend.

I think severe is typically tied to the need for hospitalization or worse.

So you’re actually saying Omicron targets the vaccinated? How would that even be possible?

The reason it’s showing up in more vaccinated people is simply because there are a lot of vaccinated people. About 2/3 of the US population is vaxxed I think. Plus, to @DOS_patos points in the past, vaxxed people are out here moving like shit is sweet so they’re putting themselves at risk much more than the unvaxxed typically.

Like the old saying goes, the most simple answer is usually the right one.

This is what I was trying to speak about earlier. Just couldn’t word it right.
We really don’t know if the mutation targets specific people or opens them up to something else or even merge with something to create some new shit.
but I wonder are theyreally testing down to the strain level in all cases.
that’s an awful lot of manpower hours.

something ain’t adding up
