The official COVID-19/Coronavirus Discussion Thread...aka I hope I don't get the Rona

That's happening regardless. Like right now in real time. Only shit protecting you for certain is natural immunity.

Tf???

:niggawhat:
That’s just patently wrong. Vaccines are certainly preventing people from dying that might otherwise die from Covid.

You’d be right if you said protecting you from catching Covid, which was a known possibility with the vaccine from the beginning.

We all had the childhood traditional vaccines that came with boosters. Difference there is those appear to be lifelong lasting as opposed to the flu and covid vaccines.

First off, you say your numbers may be off and that's a little dodgy to be honest. But also even with those numbers we're looking at ~3:1 odds of catching covid. That's already odds I'd be willing to take vs the odds of having a complication from the vaccine which is far less than ~3:1. Now we gotta look at the ratio of those people who caught covid having serious symptoms requiring hospitalization (data missing) with and without a vacccine and of those people how many died (data also missing) with and without a vaccine.

"This shit is gonna is infect who it wants to infect and kill who it wants to kill."

A virus doesn't have self-determination other than to replicate so that sentence is a bit of a cop-out.
Let’s say his and your 1 in three can get it.

isn’t that very far from the early numbers if 28mil got vaxxed and only a fewhundred got infected?

This why I’m saying the numbers ain’t adding up

This is true but you'd be shocked at the amount of people questioning booster shots swearing they never got any. It goes back to people not realizing that when they were getting shots at the doctor as a kid they were vaccines and not just some random shit being done to them.

One was rushed and one was perfected with known side effects.
Can’t compare the two

All vaccines were new at some point. And the technology now is way more advanced. Plus an all hands on deck is going to speed up the process alone vs. a group of researchers who have to claw and scratch for resources.

Would you rather us stick to a timeline from 50 years ago just because?

More getting vaxxed but infection numbers going up when half the population is already vaxxed.
Got to stop focusing on infection rates and focus on outcomes. The outcomes are way, way better for the vaxxed.

We’ve already stated in here many, many times that the Delta variant was a game changer because vaxxed became able to spread it.

The answers are there if you want to see them.

"There is no control group after Pfizer offered the product to placebo participants before the trials were completed."

WTF ?!?

Long term as far as vaccine impacts on the body? Sure, that is left to be seen. History would tell us though that vaccines will have negative impacts mostly within 2 weeks if they are going to occur. At most vaccines have induced negative impacts up to 2 months out.

Up to this point though, all vaccine impacts I’ve noticed are those that have occurred within 2 weeks (Bell’s palsy, heart inflammation, clotting issues, etc.).

Long term as far as Covid? Well we already know people are dealing with effects up to a year after catching Covid. And those impacts started from the time they got Covid and continue until today.

So for me it’s a risk calculation. I know and have seen what Covid does. The vaccine may have impacts but to date they are nowhere near those of Covid.

One thing I haven't seen discussed alot is for those who have been hospitalized due to covid is the medical bills that will inevitably mount up from these prolonged hospital stays. That's going to bankrupt so many people. That foreshadowing could also be behind the push now from both sides to get people vaccinated because that shit would impact the health industry in the US even more than covid already has due to being overfilled

I think everyone has just had high expectations of this mRNA vaccine. Thank maybe they thought it would be so great you only needed one/two shots. And we might have indeed believed that to be true, now we know more. Humans tend to freak out about new shit.
