The official COVID-19/Coronavirus Discussion Thread...aka I hope I don't get the Rona

Y'all peep this ball of confusion ass article if you confused why the vacc is a no go for many. Contradictory as fuck 😂😂
The Vaccinated Are Worried and Scientists Don’t Have Answers

Vaccinated people appear to be getting the coronavirus at a surprisingly high rate. But exactly how often isn’t clear, nor is it certain how likely they are to spread the virus to others.

"Research out of Israel seems to back the idea that protection from severe disease wanes in the months after inoculation, and more recently, that breakthrough cases may eventually lead to an uptick in hospitalizations. The information is preliminary and severe breakthrough cases are still rare, but it bolsters the case that some people will need booster shots in coming months."

Shit looking shaky out here fam

Yep out of 426 people this week that caught covid in Toronto and the gta something like 132 people (my number might be off give or take a few) were already fully vaccinated.

This shit is gonna is infect who it wants to infect and kill who it wants to kill.

First off, you say your numbers may be off and that's a little dodgy to be honest. But also even with those numbers we're looking at ~3:1 odds of catching covid. That's already odds I'd be willing to take vs the odds of having a complication from the vaccine which is far less than ~3:1. Now we gotta look at the ratio of those people who caught covid having serious symptoms requiring hospitalization (data missing) with and without a vacccine and of those people how many died (data also missing) with and without a vaccine.

"This shit is gonna is infect who it wants to infect and kill who it wants to kill."

A virus doesn't have self-determination other than to replicate so that sentence is a bit of a cop-out.

I said my numbers might be off cause I literally saw them in passing on the news ticker while I was walking by in the hospital. I didn't bother to check the specific numbers. So I was being clear before one of you sherlock Holmes ass niggas comes in here screaming "it's 122!!!"

Referring to bolded... Unless the virus was manufactured and engineered to do so... like uhh... gain of function.

Nothing here suggests anything wrong with the vaccine. Actually suggests better to have it than not. But if you’re looking for reasons to not get it that’s how you’ll interpret every piece of information you get.

Good luck, hope you don’t end up like all of these other people with your attitude, regretting not getting the vaccine.

Anyway, these booster shots is further proof that natural immunity reigns supreme, studies from The Netherlands and beyond have shown that even after a YEAR of getting covid, mofos still had anti bodies and reinfections are still extremely rare on a global scale… reinfections mostly seem to occure with people with immune system problems etc…
So let the virus run rampant until everybody who survives has natural immunity?

Cool.

"There is no control group after Pfizer offered the product to placebo participants before the trials were completed."

Nah but acknowledging natural immunity is a thing and acting accordingly/forming policy around it just like many countries are doing worldwide might be a good start for the US… You stated yourself that you think the booster shot is a money grab, instead of giving the shots to individuals with natural immunity they could go to the many countries in need etc you can stop the spread of said virus easier if your strategy is to vaccinate people who didn’t get the virus yet in correlation with people that already did and so on …

At the same time we know the rona isn’t going anywhere, it’s bound to - or already is - endemic… the various variants are already making the currently available obsolete for those that need it most (at risk groups etc )…

endemic also means we need to go to an acceptable lvl of hospitalizations and deaths, just like with other diseases… which means we need more solutions than : Shut up and take the booster shot anti vaxx fuckboy !

But considering how politicized covid is in the states I’d reckon y’all will be one of the last countries of the developed world that will be open for that discussion… which were already having and governments are forming policy for over here across the pond …

I misinterpreted your intent in your post, that’s my bad. I do agree there needs to be more discussion around natural immunity and allowing those who have caught Covid be exempt from vaccination.

At the same time, when trying to get as many people as possible covered, natural or vaccine, you have to keep it simple. It’s simple now and people are still confused. Now throw out a natural immunity exemption and see how fast people claim they had it because they had a bad cold December of 2019.

Only way is with some sort of test.

On another note, just because it works in other countries doesn’t mean it will here. We got a special kind of idiocy in certain parts of our population which probably drives the politicization you reference.
