We're not paying directly but if you think these companies are doing this for free you're crazy.

As far as a booster, not scared at all. I just don't do anything that I feel is unnecessary. Once I feel it is necessary, I'll get it. That point will be when there is evidence that the vaccine's effectiveness greatly declines after 8 months and when currently vaxxed people start getting impacted again.

A new study finds that vaccines are less effective against the delta variant of coronavirus. The U.K. study, by the University of Oxford, found that there were similar peak levels of virus after two vaccine doses to those in unvaccinated people. The study also found while two doses of the Pfizer PFE and BioNTech BNTX vaccine had greater initial effectiveness, it declined faster than two doses of the Oxford-AstraZeneca AZN , so that after four to five months, the effectiveness was similar. The study drew on the U.K. Office for National Statistics COVID-19 Infection Survey
 
So based on studies from UK and the US CDC the understandings are:

UK:
Natural immunity+vaxx>>>>nat immunity≥fully vaxxed without prior infection>>>>unvaxxed w no nat immunity

US:
Vaccine efficacy wanes as far as getting reinfected, but still VERY HIGH protection against hospitalization/death/severe symptoms

Why the push for 3rd booster for total population and not just focus on older population and immunocompromised?

Again keep in mind, the longer other countries stay under vaxxed the higher chance of a variant coming that doesn't give a shit about our vaccines.
