The official COVID-19/Coronavirus Discussion Thread...aka I hope I don't get the Rona

Tourism is pretty much shot so any folks that rely on that tourist economy need to get creative...If islands like Bermuda or Bahamas with relatively low numbers could actually manage the virus with the influx of people coming in, it would actually make sense to let folks come... as long as they follow the rules.

Make sure everyone who comes in is tested before getting on the plane... then have them tested again when they land. Everyone on the plane quarantines for 14 days no matter what until they are clear and then ur good to go.... If they break any of the rules fine the shit out of them and send they ass back home immediately.

Would especially work for those who are working remotely anyway

Might seem stringent but to quarantine for 14 days then be able to move about without restriction in a place that has on average maybe 3 covid-19 case a week or less? Especially when the states seems like it's headed for ANOTHER shutdown anyway? Seems reasonable enough to me... *shrugs*

Reasonable? Nah ppl just need to stay home

Being told you better have two weeks of extra hotel funds isn’t reasonable at all

I support the ban btw

I think alot of these islands are looking at long term stays... not quick getaways.

They are offering year long visas/certificates for people to come and work remotely... It's not really for a short vacation as far as I can tell

lol shit, yea that too. Do you really expect ppl to pay full price for a hotel room for 14 days to quarantine in the Caribbean.

Most practical way for the health and safety of the ppl in the Caribbean islands and the travelers is that ppl from the UK, Canada and the EU travel w the vaild negative covid paperwork n call it a day. (Its basically gonna have to be a part of ur passport/new normal)

America jus gone have to punt on traveling the world until sometime in 2021 when (hopefully) biden gets in office. And he implements a national mask mandate, stricter nationwide rules and a comprehensive federal covid plan. Then try and finally get a handle on the virus.

I’ve seen this idea a few places but my question is how long are your papers good for? A week? A month? You can catch the shit on your way home from the clinic...

Yep. Thats why the rumor is the NFL wants to test players every other day. There is no perfect plan. Its basically a shit show. But the world has to try.

again... I was speaking on long term stays... not vacations

Or at the airport... or on the plane. Anyone flying in needs to be tested again.. and monitored for the 14 day period imo.

Easier for smaller populations like islands... not so much for the states

Bruh, you expect there to be health officials on commercial flights doing covid tests? lol
