I get why you'd say that, but Trump was different back then. He was less buffoonish, up against an extremely unlikable and known corrupt opponent, and was at least pretending to be a populist. I thought it was crazy that people were voting for him back then, but I at least could acknowledge that there was a trick in place that they were falling for. There's not trick now. People are just knowingly voting for a horrible human being and candidate.
