Drogba returned and won premThis will make an interesting topic seeing as football may take a brief haitus.
Can you name a player or players that have come back to their former clubs and it went well having either maintained or enhanced their status and performance levels from the time they previously left?
Right now the only names that come to mind are:
- Zaha (Crystal Palace) most definitely
- Fabregas (Barcelona) I think he at least maintained
- Drogba (Chelsea) scored in champions league finals if I'm not mistaken
- Matic (Chelsea) I don't recall much of his first time being at Chelsea, but his second stint won him titles before moving to Man U
- Defoe (Spurs) defoe might not be as clinical when compared to today's standards set by the likes of Messi, Ronaldo, Lewandowski, Salah etc... But back when 1 in 2 was considered a good return goal tally for strikers, he seemed to regularly come there or there abouts with the goods at 1 goal in 2.5/3 games consistently
