Won the Copa America while being the top scorer and having the most assist. 2021’s Liga top scorer. Him being the face of football for more than 10+ years helped a lot.

He went missing on all the big occasions for Barca and Argentina. Didn't score/assist a single goal in 4 games against Real Atletico in these games Barca manage to only get 1 point. He missed a vital penalty against PSG in CL(1-1) and let's not forget how Bappe outplayed him in the first leg(1-4)
He disappeared once again in the Copa America final.
To sum it up
...ending up as #3 in the league coupled with the humiliating CL exit against PSG must be looked as nothing else than a huge failure. The Copa America have also kind of lost its value by arranging it for the fourth time in only six years.
