I always thought VdB was bought as a replacement for Pogba...

I said (on here) upon his signing, that he was signed to take Bruno's No.10 spot.

Bruno's played alotta minutes, Pogba's had 2 short spells of inactivity, so Ole clearly views it the same (to the extreme).

He wants/needs the 2 deep-lying mids to have a physical and/or athletic presence.. Matic brings some stature so that's a tick.
