I didnt go through the whole list but Jokic and Embiid are playing at superstar levels at the moment imo.

They 1 and 2 for mvp.

Im talking just based off quality of play btw, not star power

hmm fair enough but I can’t have Jokic for MVP right now because of where nuggets are at in the standings

but he’s playing at such a high level

and while I used stats intially I can’t just go by stats

because lavine is averaging in your opinion superstar level numbers but we wouldn’t say he’s a superstar (like brown) so star power has to be a factor imo

derozan not a star to me anymore

Facts. It cant just be stats. The eye test matters too. Brown is putting up 27, 6, 4 on crazy good efficiency, plays great defense, and impacts winning.

The only reason i wont call him a superstar is consistency. Lets see if he does it for a whole season first

It’s still too early to look at stats and know for sure it’s sustainable but I hear you

but then I think the consensus is that Tatum is better than brown

you content with saying celtics have 2 superstars and another star in kemba?

Im not calling either a superstar yet.

But if they both end the season averaging 25+, super efficient, and defend, ill say they are superstars

Okay and just one more question (thank you for the discussion)

what does bam have to do to be a superstar level big?

Giving you 20/8/5.5 while also shooting 85% FT and 61% FG

are these numbers for a big comparable to what brown is doing as a wing?

Bams scoring has to go up, 20 is not enough.

More importantly though imo, Bam has to be a more consistent go to scorer. Like we need to score? Dump it to Bam in the post or the elbow and he will either score or make a play for someone else to score.

Bam is getting there, but he doesnt have that consistently yet.

Hmm okay

I feel like bam in two years could be comparable to AD based on the trajectory of his career

Two seasons ago he was backing up whiteside now hassan can’t even get mins on the kings playing on a minimum deal

crazy

barring a response from BDB if he answers my questions I’m done with this. I just wanted to see the landscape as far as stars

Thanks man

For Hunter, those opportunities can come when opposing defenses are keyed in on Young. Hunter’s offensive rise benefits himself and Young as there’s now another threat on the floor that the opposition has to prepare for nightly, which is something coach Lloyd Pierce has taken notice of. “It’s added confidence for him but added confidence in all of us to see that we can play through him,” Pierce said. “He’s deserving of having sets called for him and putting the ball in his hands, whether it’s in the post or in the pick-and-roll. I think guys are going to start looking for him more. He’s shooting the ball with confidence. He’s shooting it with rhythm. He’s proven that he can be a scoring option for us. It’s just good to see guys step up throughout the year, especially when some of our other guys are out.” – via Chris Kirschner @ The Athletic
