Based on how he has set us up since the restart, Lampard wants to play a midfield with a DM AND 2 attacking eights in his midfield. Kante is the DM and ideally Havertz , Mount and RLC will rotate for the 2 attacking eights.
That’s why there is no space for Jorginho on the team. When u play Jorginho, u have to have another defensive minded mid (Kovacic, Kante or Gilmour) next to him.

Willian is most likely gone. Our Wings will be Werner, Pulisic, Ziyech and CHO. Werner and Havertz can also play multiple positions, so they will move around a bit.

Hence why Lampard played Kante almost every minute after the restart till he got injured. His 1 DM and 2 attacking 8s midfield only works with Kante. Without him, I won’t advise him to trying it often, especially against the top teams.

This is where Kovacic will come in. In games where we need more defensive steel, he will be one of the 8s. Will most likely be one of the first subs in games where we have leads too. Might not start a lot of games, but will get a lot of minutes.
