I think you do to a degree, not that I would watch the games, but I still think they are needed to try out new players/tactics, inform players, keep players that would normally play against each other as teammates etc a couple friendlies a year I have no problem with... We cant expect to lump a bunch of players together and expect them to preform well at a tournament, especially when we dont know which players to choose or which players play well together...

Nah, scrap all international friendlies. Teams can figure shit out in the qualifiers.

If only... But that wouldnt really work, teams cant afford to lose games in qualifiers by rookie mistakes like not knowing their best squad and tactics etc... By that time you need to have got the right squad together, trained and know what roughly your best teams are... IMO you need two or three a year, otherwise managers would 'play it safe' and chances are new players like Sancho and Mount wouldnt get their chance... Im not a fan of friendlies and I think we play too many pointless ones, but a couple a year are needed...
