Oldham Athletic Football Club can confirm that Paul Scholes has resigned from his position as First Team Manager with immediate effect.

We would like to place on record our thanks to Paul for his efforts during his spell in charge of the club and would like to wish him well for the future.

An update on the permanent replacement will be made as soon as possible.

1 month in the job and he quits... Arm chair manager lol

He aint built for this life!

Scholes was one of a number of former United players who publicly voiced a displeasure at the job Mourinho was doing as his tenure at Old Trafford hurtled towards a sour end after two years.

But the 44-year-old has now had a taste of how hard management can be first-hand and fans joked on social media he may be forced to eat some humble pie after quitting his job this week.

Twitter feeds quickly became an echo chamber for laughing Mourinho GIFs and posts about how the Portuguese boss will react to Scholes' departure.

Juve v spurs
Barca v pool
Man U v Porto
City v Ajax

My predictions. Got a feeling gunna be a city juve final this year.

we'll see how accurate of these "predictions" really are

Ajax v Juventus (April 10 at Johan Cruijff Arena, April 16 at Allianz Stadium)
Liverpool v Porto (April 9 at Anfield, April 17 at Estadio do Dragao)
Tottenham v Manchester City (April 9 at Spurs' stadium, April 17 at Etihad)
Barcelona v Manchester United (April 10 at Old Trafford, April 16 at Nou Camp)

So none of them was right at all! lol
