Question for yall.

If this Cavs team had Jordan rather than Lebron, would they be in the finals?

Im talking in this era, and against this Eastern conference?

My answer is yes. Maybe even easier.

On that topic, if the question is would Jordan have pushed the Warriors to 6 games 3 years ago when Irving and Love went down?

On that im leaning to no.

And that leads to this question. Can a player be less impactful but still a greater player?

Its tough cause I think Bron is the most impactful player in the modern era, meaning, he has more impact on a single game than any player, including Jordan, but Jordan is still the GOAT.

It’s an interesting question. Because if we entertain the impossible notion of putting players in the context of different eras - Bron would likely underperform in Jordan’s circumstances, as well.

Those Bulls teams needed a prolific, legendary scorer to lead that bunch past the physical, HOF competition of the 90s; without a blemish in the playoff record.

Payton & Kemp, Barkley’s Suns, those stacked Blazers, Malone & Stockton; not to mention the bruising Eastern Conference he had to contend with; or the back end of the 80s dynasties he dethroned (Pistons, Lakers, etc).

God-like Basketball IQ and versatility would only get you so far back then. Lebron acquired some of that Killer instinct, scoring prowess and physicality in the latter half of his career...

Jordan was on another level though. He was exactly what his era called for.

Only thing I can say is, if Bron came up during Jordans era, he would have had to go to college, and coached in a way to toughen him up and playing in a physical era, with his build, I think he would have adapted to the physical play.

With that though, it was also a time when shots at the rim and post ups were the go to shots and Jordans quickness is and agility would have been more effective at getting to the rim cause there was much less space at the time and every team had 2 big bodies protecting the paint.

I fully believe Bron would be in the GOAT convo regardless of the era he played in, but he might not be as high in the GOAT convo as he is now if he had to go through Birds Celtics, the Bad Boy Pistons, and the 90s Knicks every year.

I'm not posting this to debate your post. Just find it just as hilarious 2 months later lol

Brown was always a great scorer bruh

It wasn’t always pretty but he got buckets

And you’re confusing great defense with hard fouls and not as many niggas that can dribble and shot like today’s players

Wonder Why Sam Cassell hasnt gotten a look yet unless he's just never put himself out there like that, he's been an assistant for awhile now
