You could buy almost any old, outdated joint and be doing better than a chromebook.
 
@SeaSnake If you can find a Lenovo Ideapad Gaming 3 for cheap, grab it. I have one but I got it new back in 2020. Upgraded it to 32GB of RAM and it's pretty nice, even now.

This is me playing Doom Eternal on it.




I've been meaning to record a Destiny 2 run on it.

Nice thing about it is that it has three options for drives: 1 mSATA slot, 1 NVME SSD slot, and SATA. However, you can only use two at a time because the 2.5" bay and the M.2 slot overlap. Mine came with a 500GB mSATA SSD which I now use for VM storage. I added a 1TB spinning disk to it, but now that I'm looking to upgrade it to a larger disk, I'm starting to look at SSD's despite how much I don't trust them, but I'm looking at it from a power saving aspect to be able to keep it running longer on battery power.
 
Any of y'all currently using a PC that can't be upgraded to Windows 11?

You gonna keep using it or buy a new machine?

The typical sticking point is that you need a TPM2.0 module, which a fuckton of older machines don't have. UEFI is another one. Supposedly you can't install Win11 without it.

Not one of my desktops are supported and only my gaming laptop can have Win11 installed.

So I needed to transfer a 70GB virtual machine file from my desktop to my laptop today. Kicked it off this morning over wifi and shits was like "9 hours".

Literally just connected my laptop to the same gig switch my desktop is on via ethernet. Kicked off the transfer and shit is like "11 minutes". Had a power outage a few hours ago due to this heavy as fuck rain. Power came back on but for some reason one of my primary workstation's monitors is now fried. I guess this is a good enough reason to upgrade to some bigger monitors from these 22" joints. What'chall running these days?

I paid $95 for this back in January. An amazing monitor 24 inch AND 1440p.

Aiight... So I cheaped out and bought the same monitor I already have on Ebay. Shit came yesterday and I just attached it to my dual monitor stand. Nice to have dual monitors again, but the color is off a bit on this new one so shits is still ghetto.

Pretty sure this is accurate with the exception of the GPU. I do have the one shown in my other PC but the one I currently have is the RX 590

Don't judge too harshly lol

I'm trying to upgrade immediately
