It's been a bit since I saw it but I think he was screwed out of land and taxes that came from the marriage. Plus he lost a title that should have gone to him from his dad

I saw this when it was out in theaters. I liked it but I also didn't.

Jodie Comer was great and her performance alone...along with Adam Driver are worth seeing the movie.

I actually enjoyed this film very much and wouldn't have minded seeing it in theaters. Good to great performances from Driver, Damon and Affleck. I dug how the movie was broken into 3 segments with each side of the story. This is what happens when you allow your significant other to kiss the opposite sex in the mouth lol

Jacques met a brutal death. I do believe segments of each story but at the center of it, I believe he raped Marguerite
