Yeah, props to him. My point is more that there are people out there who will argue that the defense isn't any worst in today's league. Modern players are just better offensively. It says a lot that a defensive minded player has to figure out little tricks just to make plays that would have been considered basic defense for like 90% of the league's existence.

Closing out chopping feet, anticipating passing angles and not slapping down at everything is a start

Shooting is still percentage driven

You have to be super elite a la Steph Curry to completely make this moot and even then, play the percentages. In other words, let him shoot, and stop everyone else.

Yea, it’s akin to an o linemen wearing gloves the same color as the jersey of the team he’s playing against, so he can hold a few seconds longer.

Or when someone told Lamar, his complexion is similar to the color of the ball, and it’s a benefit in the option offense. After hearing that, the next game he wore gloves. The run game got dominated by the defense.

Next game, he was gloveless again, whatever edge you can get

America needs a working class, a country built on slavery did not exist without it. Once slavery was removed, cheap and or free labor had to still be done. And profits still had to be afforded to those at the top that believe wholeheartedly that it’s because of their efforts and their efforts alone, that America exist.

But in order for this thing continue, much like a kingdom with kings and queens. You need the ruling class, those that serve the ruling class and those that serve those that serve the ruling class. Thus an effort was pushed to convince those that serve the the ruling class that those that serve them are inferior to them.

This belief was pushed for years, but when a few people started to wake up to this notion, that we are equal and no one should rule over anyone. Thus threatening the existence of this thing they built. An effort was put into to place so stifle the laborers from being in a middle class. Because it’s the coming to grips of this reality that would destroy the whole set up.

So, an attitude and cycle of behavior was manipulated on those people to continue to perpetuate the things used to convince those that server the ruling class that those that serve them, deserve to be treated in a way that leads them to continue bare the fruit that validates those deserved actions.

Just as the system is slowly starting to turn on its head, you reintroduce elements that provide a push back into the direction, that reinforces the system that is built.
