This is what couples therapy is for. You basically paying someone $500 to tell yall things yall could have told each other for free. But mfers need to hear it from somebody else.
 
Vaccines aren't cures.

Example: Millions of people have been getting influenza and pneumonia vaccines for years and STILL contract both.

In theory and in practice, sometimes, it's supposed to minimize the symptoms and decrease the time you have it when you get sick with it, not prevent you from contracting/spreading it.

Ill be totally honest, I had a friend that let me and my whole fam cut the line. Was it wrong? Yea. But was it worth it? Fuck yea.

She reached out to me to get appointments set for my parents, and I threw myself in there too.

In NJ they let smoking count as a precondition. She know I dont smoke but I told her to put me down as a smoker. Lmaooo. She was disgusted. Was like do you know how unethical that is? I was like yep. Convinced her to do it and boom, first dose done, getting the second dose in 24 days.

The gag is that I'm eligible for my state but there's no vax sites near me. So I'll probly have to wait til the next round of ppl til I can get it.

PSA: Everyone needs to understand this...WE ARE IN A PANDEMIC. Just because more places are opening up and capacities are being increased dosen't mean it's over ("ThE EcONomY!").

The truth is, we are stuck with COVID. It's not going anywhere, especially this soon. It's only been a year....over a year of damn near total inaction on the part of our govt, STILL trying to understand how the virus works, the mutations, and waaay too many people not taking this seriously and continuing to NOT do the right things. We're not going "back to normal". Masks are now our new normal. There may come a time when we don't have to wear them all the time but it WILL NOT BE THIS YEAR.

It depends on the disease. Sometimes vaccines functionally are cures. That's why something like smallpox is on its way to being eliminated altogether because of the fact that the vaccine is effective and becoming increasingly widespread due to the efforts of WHO.

The reason you have to get the flu vaccine every year isn't because that particular vaccine doesn't act as a cure in some sense, it's because the flu virus evolves extremely quickly, so every year it comes back and the strain is different enough that whatever immunity you built up to it before is no longer sufficient.

That's not what I was saying. I was not claiming it was mandatory. I was just giving the reason that there is a is yearly flu vaccine.

I'm not arguing with the greater point you're making. However, overly simplistic statements like "vaccines aren't cures" is the kinda thing that leads to truth being twisted and anti-vaxxers running around saying vaccines aren't needed or useful.
