This documentary Master of Light is pretty fucked up.
It's about George Anthony Morton, he's a classical painter, studied in Europe and shit. He did 11 years in prison due to a drug deal go wrong on or some shit.
He goes back to the hood to reconnect his family and he learns from his brothers and sisters that his mother snitched on him and put him in prison in order for her to avoid going to prison.
