Can you point out a specific cultural reference?

Cause it reads like you think poor folks all move the same within itself, whereas middle class moves differently within the same space

The spaces are different.

So yes. Folks in your “tax bracket” typically have the same culture than those who don’t regardless of race. And same goes for immediately area.

I used a light example when it comes to slang or AAVE which I think is weird because just because we the same color don’t mean certain words or phrases are part of your culture.

They should’ve never gotten rid of the shaking my head emoji on here. I think that would be my go to for sure on this site and especially the last couple pages in this thread. Lmao.

You could make the same argument when talking about black people in different regions of the country or different age groups or different religious groups. That's not really unique to black people either honestly.

That’s why I said immediately area as well.

And that’s my point because just because you’re black don’t mean it’s your culture to use or police.

It's an interesting point, and there's truth to it.

I don't know how far you want to take that though. I mean Hip Hop was created in the projects in New York. It was part of their culture. Would you call all the black people from different socio-economic groups, regions of the country, generations, etc... culture vultures for taking part in it?

You can always find a reason to further divide a community, but at what point is it no longer beneficial to do that? I don't really see what would be gained by telling a middle class black person in the N.O. that they can't use vernacular created by poorer people in N.O. because they didn't live exactly the same. Seems like that would just be creating division for division sake.

Its facts.

Growing up New Orleans damn near all the black folks was on the same wave. When I got around black folks with money the wave wasnt there in all aspects.

The black culutre among the our groups are vaslty different.

Hell @King Freeman Just posted a Gif of Carlton in Will's environment and that exactly what im talking about the difference and we are not the same culture

I've been saying this since the 90s.

Popular Black culture is starts at the bottom of the socioeconomic ladder.

Obama daughters saying nigga and cap every other word might as well be a White girl saying it lol.

Or I'll put it another way, if Issa Rae called my a nigga, I might swing on her.

There's really no difference between the culture of the races of people at the top of America. All of them are the same.

Cultural differences are at the bottom.

I agree

I just find ironic that black folks that’s not of that culture where the word is use police a non black person about slang words.

Most word policing is stupid honestly.

Like if I saw a white person in the early 00s walking around talking saying "woadie," that shit would have struck me as weird, but I wouldn't have told them to stop using it or anything dumb like that.

Because Black people that are in the same rooms of the White people that can afford to go to the concerts of their favorite rappers often find themselves like in that college educated class right...

There was a study that showed most White people don't have a Black friend or know a Black person personally.

So these college educated Black people that end up on some SJW shit are that Black friend. These are the class of Blacks that become Democratic Party surrogates and shit. These are the Black people that write for the Atlantic.

Black popular culture for them is their cache. It's what makes them special so they care about it way more than the motherfuckers that are actually making the shit.

Like, you think these rappers that be having these White ass crowds screaming nigga as they sing along to their favorite song care?

You think these gang members that have White homies in they gang care?

It's people that won't even go to the hood, that don't even listen to rap like that, that be worried about "Black culture" because that's what makes them "Black".

Without that, they are a basic ass American.

Hmmmm, I need to ponder on this more

Aye,

You know when you see a girl at work in passing, and notice she always dressing super baggy and in sneaks.

But then you end up being in a in person meeting with her and talk to her.

And you just being you, but being you is being me, it means you mad charming.

And then you come to work the next day, go to the room for the meeting, and see she wearing a pencil skirt and some heels. Makeup and hair done.

I mean, it could just be a coincidence.

Or it can be yamean.

Yamean?
But when I say shit like this

This Wack 100 and Big U saga is mad entertaining and sad af

Bunch of rats and snakes telling on each other

Gangbanging is weird as shit
