It's always mattered to them. They just knew society didn't really give a fuck about them. It's easy to call something trivial and stupid when it doesn't impact you. You're always referred to using the words that you feel best represent you. You may not be able to relate to a trans person, but I'm sure you can at least understand how frustrated you would be if people were constantly referring to you as she or her.

All that said, I'm not saying people aren't trying to go overboard with it. Like I don't understand the logic of that them/they shit at all.

That's really the only time it appears on my radar, and was specifically what I was talking about in my earlier post. IMO, people that want to be called "they/them" really just want to be "special" and seek attention.
 
Using the "correct" pronoun is just a way to lessen their dysmorphia.

I'm chilling in NYC with my niece, since got some business out this way. This dirty ass pussy ass city.

I went to Harlem, my old stomping grounds and I'm like...seeing yuppie ass Asians and White people around and my stomach turn up in disgust.

I'm thinking damn, back in my day, if you was a yuppie but couldn't afford to stay in Manhattan, you just went to Queens. This was before the crack era when everyone in NYC was crazy besides Manhattan. 70s and early 80s, Queens was basically the suburbs for middle class people that wanted to stay close to the city.

That's what made bad street dudes in Queens scary, they really ain't have to be that way. They wanted to be bad.

So I made the mistake to going to the Bronx to see if it was still rugged and I felt like I needed a gun in certain parts. I'm like, yeah, this the Bronx. They restoring the feeling. I think I might see someone get shot out here.

I caught an Uber back to Manhattan.

NYC ain't for old motherfuckers. If you old in NYC, god bless you, you just trapped.

I couldn't imagine being my age in this rotting, stinking city. The place is for the young. Ain't no place better to run around and get in trouble. After 25, you don't wanna be here unless you on WallStreet or the entertainment industry or something, making money.
