Yo..so I’m in my Human Services 102 class, the instructor puts up a slide about how Technology has a negative affect on kids. She then ask us from a scale of 1-10, one being the worst affect on kids. Where do we rank how Tech affects kids. I said 10, as not at all a big issue.

She singles me out and ask me why, my answer was very simple. I said that every generation raises their kids for a world that no longer exists. We feel like Tech is that much more of a threat because we didn’t have it. But kids are dealing with the same shit we dealt with. Bullying, sexual material, things parents don’t want their kids to know. The same stuff.

We just think our kids are more fragile than we were and we look at tech different. They can’t imagine a world where this stuff doesn’t exist. We are way more apprehensive than we should be.

She challenged the point but I didn’t say A rebuttal cause ion care, it was just an opinion. Then a girl in the class who is young started talking about how social media ruined her confidence.

So now the instructor is flustered cause she agreed with the girl. I ask the instructor a question and shorty replied wit an attitude. Then when I asked a follow up, she abruptly ended the zoom meeting.

Yo,.what the fuck makes people so fucking sensitive bruh..why people take personal opinions as some sort of attack on their being. I didn’t even care, this shit was a blip in my day..da fuck

You told that long story, with all those details…and then conveniently left out the questions you asked at the end that left her ‘flustered’.

It means personal development plan, it was something we were supposed to know about in this weeks lesson plan. It was on her screen but I didn’t have it in my lesson plan so my question was were we supposed to have it. If yes, it’s not showing up on mine. She wasn’t flustered by the question, she was flustered by my statement earlier and at this point had an attitude toward me.

She tried to act like it happened on accident by sending this message 5 minutes later. But we were in that meeting for an 1 hour and a half with no issues and the minute she in her feelings and I’m speaking all of a sudden the whole meeting drops..please.

She may have took thequestion as you taking a shot in response to her disagreement of opinions. But I agree with you. She singled you out and you gave a well thought out respectable response. She shouldn't have got in her feelings just because she disagreed it be like that tho.

I was right too, last night she corrected the issue. It was supposed to be there. She was in her feelings cause she ain’t even respond to the question, she just corrected her error. It is what it is, I trigger some people unintentionally. I’m black, I speak assertive and confidently , I’m opinionated. I can’t let that shit dim my light now more. People gone feel how they feel, I know I wasn’t trying be malicious and that’s good enough for me.
