Dumb question on phone chargers

Is iExample : i have a fast charger from samsung...the cord itself is ripped...if i use a diff usb cord should it still work fast? Or no

It should but not always.

I have the opposite issue with my Samsung.

I only get fast charging on 3rd party charging cables, but never from official Samsung cables.

Shit makes no fucking sense but I've tried multiple times with other people's chargers and it's true
