some of ya'll niggas weird af for the reasons ya'll dont like Ronnie the character and the actor portraying him

my nigga @1/2 was speaking that real as to why his character gets the attention he gets. I'm all for the "whispers" jokes and all, but he has one of the most compelling story arcs on the show imo

Too depressing and slow for tv.


Look at it like this:


There's an argument to be made that The Corner was better than The Wire..........even though it was just a few episodes long.


More compelling and real.


Thing is, nobody wants to see anything like that on tv.


That's why The Corner never became a series.


So, if they really are getting rid of Brandon's character......then, unfortunately, that's probably going to mean even more screen time for Ronnie.


More screen time for Ronnie would be detrimental to the success of the show, so it'd be in their best interests to get rid of him now or change his storyline.

the corner didnt become a series b/c the parts (i cant remember how many there were) was the original plan from jump. I wouldnt even compare the corner to the wire tbh, but I thought the pacing of the corner was good for the series it was.

i mean, i just dont know ya'll niggas want from Ronnie as a character

i liked his arc as well, but i think you could've made anyone be a reformed crack head and his story is still the same
 
Ronnie s issue is not only does he slow the pacing of the show but his character can only go 2 ways redemption or backslide...he s already done both lol fam is no longer necessary to the story ergo niggas really tell me they wanna see Ronnie work his way through rehab in season 3 ? Foh

the pacing of this show is fine, even with his story included

they are building up the characters to make them matter which to me, is a priority in good story telling

Make you invested in the characters whether good or bad so that the payoffs (good or bad) meant something

People still to this day think Skylar White is a bitch, but you cant deny the reason you feel she is a bitch, is b/c of how they wrote her character

all them bum ass characters in GOT and ya'll niggas tuned in every week

I might start that shit back from season 1

Anyway My only issue is they killed the OG nigga,Jason's real dad offscreen,unless that was some bullshit and he is alive.

no he is dead

in his hunt for revenge, he violated some code or some shit and was killed off screen

i think the real actor had scheduling conflicts

Imagine how horrible The Wire would be if Bubs was getting 40-50% of the screen time.


Thankfully, the people behind The Wire were smart enough not to do that.


So, what does that say about the people behind The Chi devoting so much screen time to Ronnie?

yeah I did like Q tho

I felt like his character was too deep to just die like that

the lil war with the new bloods was all too familiar and was a good part of the story
