I'm not gonna get my information from an idiot on Twitter who wants to make a political point. UNH is a good company and I know it well enough to know it doesn't base it's entire business off of being unscrupulous.

This shit is like people saying "dont trust banks" but have shitty habits and credit as to why banks won't lend to them but swear it's an agenda. It's not that deep, people just become emotionally embroiled especially when they dont get their way and go off on tangents trying to link unrelated things to prove a point that was faulty to begin with.

With all due respect this is emotional ...

I am not asking you to make grand judgements and character assessments of the company.

I am asking you to address publicly available reports of behaviors that said company exhibited.

It doesn’t matter who tweeted it. That is deflecting

Can you address what they did, or do your feelings about them matter more than their actions?

Because this type of shit is divisive, manipulative and goes nowhere. There are good and bad apples in a bunch but like I said I'm not gonna get my information about something or someone off some idiot on Twitter I'll do my own research and arrive to my own conclusions before I speak on it.

Lol.

Ok So it’s divisive to call out Corporations cutting people’s pay by 40% during an economic crisis and effectively endangering the health of millions... all in the name of higher profits that are already in the Hundreds of Billions of dollars...

But said corporations actually DOING those things isnt “divisive” ... its just “Meh”

Is it Oochie Wallie or is it One Mic?

You got it tho fam.

By the way, that Twitter Dude had a 20-year career as a corporate insurance executive and head of communications for Cigna, CEO of a nonprofit, analyst at the The Center for Public Integrity and is president of a Consulting Firm.

He has also served as a consumer representative to the National Association of Insurance Commissioners, And wrote a book that was awarded the Ridenhour Book Prize for “outstanding work of social significance” in 2011.

For the record.

It's divisive because he's generalizing a whole industry, it swells on ignorance because YOU dont know how a company actually runs and it's meant to cause a negative reaction because it gets Retweeted faster and further. You're emotionally embroiled and WANT something to be mad at I get it. Bernie Sanders didn't win and you hate it. Can't help you there. If it were actually like that I would comment on it but again I'm not going to get embroiled in some bullshit online because misery needs company. The dude is an idiot and unfortunately on social media there's a lot of them.

I have no dog in this fight but again I'd rather do my own research and come to my own conclusion. There are good and bad apples to everything. They're not trying to give companies free money to fuck off, they're trying to prevent or at least slow the impact of an impending recession. For the feds if more people get laid off and have bills to pay they're gonna look somewhere for a job and that means they may be out and about in a time where they want people inside to prevent the spread of a potentially life threatening illness.

Cool. Yeah we fundamentally disagree.

This has nothing to do with Bernie Sanders.
But the fact that you dismiss the very REAL reason that tens of millions of Americans are “mad” it’s telling.

PS - This didn’t start a week ago. Their anger has been growing for over 40 years... Bernie just acknowledged it and acknowledged the tangible, justified reasons behind it.

Something you are apparently unwilling to do.

Even still - does someone’s “anger” somehow justify the abhorrent actions on the part of a corporation?

This is the definition of deflection, fam.

I’m Still not sure why you insist this gentleman is an “idiot”. When he is one of the most accomplished and experienced professionals in his industry. Perhaps it’s because you disagree with him or because he pointed out something inconvenient about a company you have respect for.

I would simply ask you to conduct this “research” on the United States healthcare industry.

Be sure to cite plenty of empirical data and studies that have been conducted. Analyze cost and revenue and profit and quality of care.

Take an objective look at the behaviors of actors in this system and bear in mind the purpose of a rational healthcare system.

I look forward to your impartial conclusions

You read and hear what you want. I can't help you.

One more time, I clearly have no dog in this fight, the corporations aren't being given free money. The feds are trying to stop them from laying off the rest of their workforce to minimize unemployment. They are actively trying to stop more people from being laid off. Again I would conduct my own research and arrive to my own conclusions objectively rather than taking the word of some Twitter nut as gospel and jumping to conclusions without all the facts. If you were being objective, this conversation wouldn't have gotten to this point.

Stay safe, have a nice day.

The research has been done and the conclusions are painfully obvious.

But you are right - despite that fact, neither of us are going to change our positions.

Be blessed and stay safe out there.

I think I speak for all of us when we say to all MAGAs...

I won’t belabor the point here cause we’re discussing in another thread, but they are being given free money. If they don’t cut their workforce by more than 80% I think it is, the loans are forgiven. And the free money is truly free for many because they probably didn’t pay much in taxes, if any at all.
