Ironically, this is the reason my folks came to the US. We were cultural minorites AND ideologically we were socialists. They came and got my pops once and we knew the next time they come and get my pops he will never come back home so we had to dip.

A part of all that was religion. They used religion to persecute the fuck out of anyone leaning left. the whole socialists are athiests bullshit they spew.

So the whole freedom of religion in the US is one thing that drew us.
