Even though the bitch went about it the wrong way mentioning Harrison Barnes name. I can't knock their hustle. In this climate its really their best chance to get support and guilt folks into paying them more than what they are worth. Even if in the end its detrimental to the long term survival of the WNBA.

Put it this way she's complaining about being paid in the low 6 figures. If the NBA stopped subsidizing the WNBA and left them to their own devices. Then she and the others complaining would find out what that 22% revenue split really turns out to be. She would take her ass overseas to play ball cause that shit would probably turn out to be minimum wage or less.
The WNBA is not turning a profit and the teams still have to pay everybody in the whole organization from the arena janitors on up to the top, pay for the planes they travel on, etc. Somebody is giving them horrible advice cause they actually getting more than they are generating. They the ones getting over.
I'm ain't knocking their hustle. I just see if for what it is.

I will admit, initially, i had the same thoughts as you...or similar...but as i read more, i see their gripe is with their CBA but it was just presented poorly

It's obvious what their gripe is with and even still how can they ask for a bigger percentage of something that isn't there? If the league was turning a profit then it wouldn't need to be subsidized. They need to be looking at more of what they can generate for themselves outside of the WNBA. Funny they complaining about what they are being paid now. When they are more than likely making more than Cynthia Cooper was and the league was more popular back then. Maybe because it was still new then I don't know but it still had more eyes on it then than it does now.
It's very sexist but the WNBA ain't going to take off unless they promote femininity.
Like I said they should keep the pressure on though cause in this equality climate this their best chance to get something they don't deserve

If you are getting paid you are considered a professional. Just as with anything there are levels to what your professionalism can provide for you.
I actually like the WNBA and never said they weren't professional.
It's just that you want to GIVE them some shit they don't deserve cause they not bringing what they asking for. Without the NBA subsidy the WNBA closes up shop.
I get the hustle they running with right now. It's actually smart as shit considering the times we're in. If it works out for them great wouldn't bother me one bit. If they don't get it so be it wouldn't bother me one bit either.
