Idk...I was an athlete that hung out with other athletes. They was mixing it up upper and lower classmen.

Idk what you regular peasants was doing that freshman pussy meant so much to an adult lol

To a lot of people, even if you turn 18 your senior year while school is in session, it kinda doesn't set in that you're legally an adult. You're still in high school and adults don't go to high school, they go to college.

Seems a bit excessive cause niggas do dumb shit in high school. I know ignorance of the law isn't a defense, but I could see where he might not have even known that was illegal. It was consensual and he didn't upload it to the net or anything. 100% creepy and morally and ethically wrong, but maybe not illegal in his mind.

I remember one of my homeboys used to get Polaroids of chicks naked busting it open and show all the homies. He probably would have faced the same fate had that got out.

I hope parents and teachers are schooling these kids on this law. I'm having a talk today with mine.

When I was 16 I was fucking around with a 20 year old in college and when I was 17 I was fucking around with a 22 year old in college.

I definitely ain't see anything wrong with it, but it's crazy they could have caught charges for that shit.

And older niggas was forever scooping up high school chicks from school. No one batted an eye.

This reminds me on Joe budden podcast when Joe was saying how crushed he would be putting in mad work for a girl in high school jus for her to get scooped up after class by a nigga in a Honda accord lmao. Nigga said he trying to spit raps to a girl while a nigga came thru bumping DMX, you cant compete lmaooo.

It was worse when I was in high school. Get out at 3:15 and there was a fuckin parade of cars with hump circling the school and niggas parked on the street leaning against their rides draped in Adidas, Troop, or Le Cocq Sportif warmups, Kangols, and gold chains none of us could afford. Niggas in Benzes, BMW, Audi, tricked out Samurai's, Raiders, and Blazers with 12's or 15's in the back and shit like that. High school niggas with their own cars couldn't even compete.

It's being drilled into the kids heads that sexting is illegal. That shit was getting steam when my oldest was a freshman in '08/09. Teachers were telling the kids even back then not to do it 'cause it was illegal.

No way to defend what he did.

Still not sure how I feel about a 25 year punishment for a mistake an 18 year old made though.
I feel the same.
At 18 I was turning down teenage hoes. If they weren't at least my age they had to be 20's and 30's. Still 18 isn't really some grown ass adult, that's still a kid.
I seen crackas slide for way more

Word.

Dude should be punished but we are all different people at 30 then we were at 18, so to be punished at 30, 35, 40+ for what you did at 18 sounds a bit off.

Not just this case, I feel like this with almost everything when it comes to jail time or any type of punishment.

I dont have a good solution on how to fix it though so it is what it is.

That "teen" is lucky he only got 6 months instead of the 3 years he was facing.

Even though he was still in high school, he was an 18yr old senior at the time he had sex with the 14yr old freshman.

Him still being in high school is probably the only thing that saved him from a harsher sentence.

And what kind of legal representation did he have that they thought it was a good idea for him to even go to trial?

He might've been able to avoid the sex offender registry altogether if he took a plea deal.

Maybe plead to "contributing to the delinquency of a minor" or "indecent liberties with a minor" or something.

Then again, the lawyer might've advised him to take a plea.........but either him and/or his parents were against it because they didn't think what he did was that serious.

Instead of teaching all of this LGBT/transgender tolerance foolishness, the schools need to be teaching these kids about the possible legal repercussions of sexting and/or social media.

Probably wouldn't hurt to go over age-of-consent laws as well.

the law is really quite clear on this so dude has zero excuses.

Anyone under the age of 18 that takes nudes or records sex acts between other underage kids are guilty of creation, possession of, and dissemination of child pornography.

And this ain't new either:

https://www.aclu.org/blog/juvenile-...harges-sexting-teenage-girl-child-pornography

^^^ 14 year old girl charged with the same crime.

https://www.washingtonpost.com/loca...ory.html?noredirect=on&utm_term=.c715c51f1233

^^^ Another teenage girl charged with it

and there's cases in every state about this kind of thing. I remember cases in Phoenix over this about 10-12 years ago where boys and girls were being charged with producing child porn and facing sex offender registration.

Here in Nevada the law is extremely clear:

https://www.shouselaw.com/nevada/NV-teen-sexting-law.html

"NRS 200.737 makes it unlawful for a minor to knowingly and willfully:
  • Use an electronic communication device to transmit or distribute a sexual image of himself or herself to another person;
  • Use an electronic communication device to transmit or distribute a sexual image of another minor who is older than, the same age as, or not more than 4 years younger than the minor transmitting the sexual image; or
  • Possess a sexual image that was transmitted or distributed as described above if the minor who is the subject of the sexual image is older than, the same age as or not more than 4 years younger than the minor who possesses the sexual image.
Before the passage of NRS 200.737 in 2011, teenagers could only be charged with sexting under Nevada's child pornography laws."

Just don't fuckin do it. It's that simple.

The schools and/or parents need to do a better job of educating kids about those laws though.

18 smashing a 14 yr old is foul in the first place

Foul, but both of them were still in high school.

This was commonplace when I was in school back in the day. (mid-80's)

Back then, there was no concept of age of consent amongst high school students.

Basically, it wasn't seen as an 18yr old smashing a 14yr old..........it was just seen as a senior smashing a freshman.

He gonna have a hard time trying to convince anyone he's not a pedophile pretty much his entire life for some dumb shit he did at 18....

Like long after this girl and her mother forget all about this shit.... Homie gonna still be in his 30's struggling to find a home because still offenders can't near schools, and home owner associations have a thing about sex offenders putting "NO CANDY HERE" on their porches....

He gonna have trouble finding a job. Cuz shit like this can't just be expunged.

Not to mention his love life is shot. Women aren't rushing to get in a relationship with a sex offender....

You can't exactly hide that from a chick and expect things to get serious, and you definitely can't lead off a conversation with it either.

No one was killed, no one was raped, but homies life is ruined forever.

Expelled from school, off the football team, college dreams prolly greatly effected.

I ain't saying what he was doing was cool or even defending it, but his life is essentially over, and no one seems to give a damn at all.

But that's America.

I wish his drug dealing career the best of luck.

On top of that, if he ends up going to prison for something else, once those inmates check his paperwork.........it's a wrap for him in there too.

He'll probably kill himself before any of that. Many people, but men in particular, find life on the SOR so harsh that they end up killing themselves out of desperation.

This is one of the reasons the SOR is unreasonable and why there's a growing push to get rid of it. Aside from the fact that it's almost never been helpful it's more or less a cruel and unreasonable punishment for shit like this, pissing behind a dumpster, streaking at a football game, soliciting a hooker, and other "crimes" where no one is really hurt (like having sex in your bedroom but forgetting your blinds/curtains are open and someone sees you from the sidewalk).
