Breaking News School Shooting in Nashville

And it won’t change a damn thing.

Washington is dangerous and is gonna get more dangerous because of shit that has fuck all to do with “assault weapons”.
Washington has the 20th lowest violent crime rate in the nation. Lower than the national average. Not sure it can be labeled "dangerous".

That there is nothing more dense than willfully hiding behind verbiage and semantics as if you don’t know exactly what others are talking about.

Who's hiding behind verbiage??? I'm talking facts which is something not one of y'all have done yet.

Fact: Assault rifles have not been on sale in this country since 1986.
Fact: All rifles classified as "assault rifles" are either 100% full auto or selectable full auto. Without that, it's not an assault rifle no matter how you try to spin it. That's a fact.

Fact:
The AR15's we buy today are NOT assault rifles. The M4 or M4A1 that our troops have been using up to this point ARE assault rifles and are different from the AR15 you can buy at a sporting goods store even if they LOOK somewhat similar.

It's just crazy how this always ends as a debate about guns and not about the people who are being shot and killed.

The debate comes when people start speaking from emotion about what needs to be done instead of looking at the data that exists to figure out a logical solution.

First thing they say is "Ban AR15's!!!"

But once you point out that the overwhelming majority of schools shootings were committed with handguns they're still on "ban AR15's!!!". Virginia Tech is STILL the deadliest school mass shooting of all time and dude used a 9mm Glock and .22LR Walther handguns. but they're still on "Ban AR15's!!!". Point out that from 2000 to 2018 only ONE school mass shooting used an AR15 and the rest used handguns and it's still "hurr durr, ban AR15's!!!"

This is why the debate happens: Logic and data versus emotions. Trying to find a way to make us actually safe versus doing something to "feel safe".

lol What is there to debate about people being shot and killed? We should all agree that that's a bad thing. So the debate comes down to what we should do about it. One side wants to do something. The other side doesn't.

All the pro-gun nuts are against anything at all that restricts or delays access to guns but offer no reasonable alternatives for fixing the problem. The closest thing they've done is try to push mental illness as the problem and not guns. That's fine, but then those people also stand against money being put to addressing mental illness and red flag laws that would work to keep guns from people who have mental illness.

Sadly, Justin was reinstated.

That whole democrat party needs to be expelled for they shenanigans. And then start making way to the republicans. That raggly speech he gave didn't convince me one bit.

Ok so using the term assault rifle is wrong or whatever if they used to correct term for the guns used in the shooting and said we should ban them would that change anything in this thread? Know if it an assault rifle or not to people who are for something being done does not matter. Folks want gun control on all the guns. The red flag thing ain’t working and it seems like they can’t predict all of these.

When they say restrict guns you think feds coming to house and taking your shit which they won’t.

It just seems like it’s discusssing minor details.

Manifesto was leaked
