Talmbout "militarized" when we had DPD cops walking the halls at Mumford in the late 80's. Metal detectors got installed the very next year after I left in '90 but IIRC there were already metal detectors at other schools in Detroit. They act like this shit is new when we've had it in "inner city" schools for decades, but the suggestion that white kids gotta live like we did and its that plantation mindset like you said earlier. Black kids deal with cops/resource officers and metal detectors across the country. Shit, I'll give Las Vegas and Clark County that much credit: Clark County School District has it's own whole ass police force! Shit is 100% separate from Las Vegas Metro PD and is dedicated to the schools within the Clark County School District.

If it's good enough for us, it's good enough for whitey and their kids.

I feel like I've been pretty chill in my arguments and nothing about what I have said should make anyone call me a dummy @The Mad Titan and they would obviously have a lower absolute number of deaths but they also have a lower gun death rate and it's not really close (ours is 99 times higher). Gun control has worked. It's simply the facts. I hear you about red flag laws but, as I pointed out, it doesn't work that well. It's barely enforced where they do have them and the national republican party will block any attempt to create a federal one. It's gotta be a bit harder to get a gun, shouldn't be able to just go get one same day. We definitely gotta decrease the number of guns already out there.

I have this discussion often as I am from a city that is plagued with gun violence. I don't just start caring when it's white kids, I care all the time. We looking at our fourth straight year of 400+ murders with around 80% of those being gun deaths. We hit like 560-something back in '21.

Again lower death rates and gun related deaths naturally come from a places with way fewer guns and people. Thats why its not a true comparison. Then throw in the u.s. being the u.s. and there ya go. Ppl here are more inclined to harm other in general, no matter the means used.

Most posters who argue for gun control dont realize how much oa already on the books.

So before introducing even more and possibly passing redundant legislation, doesnt it make the most sense to first amd foremost protect the children physically, them make enforcement of current laws more efficient, then do a gap analysis to determine what else needs to be done?

Dawg... When I went to buy my CMR30 and Sub2000 it took 3 days for the background check to come back. NOBODY was gettin' guns the same day back then and this was around this time last year. I think the only reason why I got my AR hours after my check was submitted was because I had already gone through the whole NICS process already. When I went to pick it up there was a cat in there complaining about how it had been two days and his hadn't come back yet.

You can't say that red flag laws don't work when they're not being enforced properly. Nothing works when it's not enforced. And what y'all are talking about are legal purchases. 99.999999999999999999999999999% of the legal purchases are done by responsible people. it's that tiny ass fraction of a percent that buy guns with the express intent on harming random people.

Make it harder for legit purchases and they will go to the street for their guns and that's a fact. I spoke on a nigga that lived in my complex in Vegas in another thread. Asian cat with face tats that had been paroled. He had multiple felonies but was sittin out across from my apartment waving around a Glock with an extended magazine like it was all good.
