Breaking News School Shooting in Nashville

real police work...imagine that

I showed this video to a friend of mine that's a retired Army Sergeant. She said hearing the news about this shooting yesterday made her really sad, but that video had her cheering and yelling in my ear talmbout "THAT'S HOW THE FUCK YOU DO THAT SHIT!!!". She's like there's no way in hell officer Collazo ain't ex-military just from the way he moved and handled business then she went on a rant about how pussy Uvalde cops were.

Yeah. Once they came down from that adrenaline and processed all that happened it probably wasn't pretty. I hope their department is willing and capable of providing them any support should they desire it.

Everything is just so fucked up about this.

I hope so too. Although I'm suspicious that departments are taking the mental health of officers, especially officers who see shit like this, seriously. I know those Uvalde police gotta feel even worse seeing how quickly this was stopped.

Cops: DON'T MOVE!!!

So where did the process fail here?

If they were under care for an emotional disorder and shouldnt have had the guns.. how could they have hidden anything? If the guns were registered, there should be an inventory of what guns this person had and them shits shoulda been taken away

See there goes that registry talk again.

There ain’t no national registry and never will be one. The AFT be trying to make lil registries on the low but yeah, it’s illegal.

Registries are step 1 to gun confiscation.

TN doesn't have Red Flag laws on the books. Her parents thought she would harm someone and she was being seen for emotional issues. Moms was concerned about a gun she bought but then sold and didn't know there were others. If enforced properly, that would have been enough to get a court order restricting her ability to buy guns legally and would have the cops confiscate the joints she already had.

Edit: As I said earlier, the information on what guns were purchased are kept with the FFL dealer and those records are legally mandated to be maintained. The ATF has referred to those records in the past to figure out who a gun last belonged to, so there's a paper trail on all legal gun purchases.

“Nashville resident Hale, who was also killed during the shooting, was reportedly armed with two assault-style rifles and one handgun. On Tuesday, MNPD Chief John Drake explained that Hale had obtained the three weapons used in the shooting legally and were part of seven total she’d purchased locally.

Drake explained that police were unaware Hale “even existed,” much less that Hale was under mental duress. According to Drake, Hale was under doctor’s care for an emotional disorder.

“[Hale’s] parents were under the impression that [Hale] did not own any more weapons. But [Hale] had been hiding weapons in the house,” said Drake.”

So you guys disagree with that politician from Tennessee that said "Nothing can be done" (fuck your kids, my kids are homeschooled 🤷🏽‍♂️ and I like being bribed by gun lobbyists)

How can you have Red Flag Laws without some type of registry that shows who has what?

again: The dealers have to keep those records. The NICS check includes a section for the type of weapon you're buying. The mere fact that the check was run says "This person bought a gun from this dealer". Go to the dealer, get the specifics on the gun, go to the home and confiscate it.

Add to this what I said about forcing all private sales to go through an FFL so that if the person tries to claim they sold it but there's no paper trail on it you have grounds for obstruction, contempt of court, AND violating the private party sale requirements. Throw 'em in prison at that point.

What states do is up to the states but it all leads to the same thing.

Red flag laws aren’t initiated by the police to begin with. Someone would need to petition against the person in court saying that a person with guns is a known threat to themselves or others. The police would then make a visit to that persons home for the confiscation.

Something can definitely be done. Get the red flag laws on the books and force all private party sales to go through the same background process as a purchase from a dealer.

In this case, if moms was really concenred she could have initiated the Red Flag and had it gone through court for the judge to sign off. That way she wouldn't have been able to buy guns and would have to turn over every gun she already owned.
