Which is one thing I don't understand.


I don't think the rest of the world understands the power dynamic between Putin and the Oligarchs.


They might have helped put him in power and keep him in power early on, but that dynamic has changed since then.


He's got his own money now.


It's been reported that his net worth could be close to $200 billion.


If that's true, he doesn't need the Oligarchs anymore.


Since he doesn't need them anymore, they no longer have any influence over him.


They actually have more to fear from him because he's just as rich........if not richer........than them.


Plus he's in control of an entire country.


So he can touch them any time he wants.


Basically do what MBS did to most of the royal family in Saudi Arabia.


"Detain" them under the guise of fighting corruption, and seize all of their assets.


Now, it might be harder for him to get to the Oligarchs that aren't in Russia, but they know he can if he decides to.


So, again, the oligarchs aren't in any position to stop him..........because they no longer have any influence over him.


Similar to the Co-Op with Marlo once he got the connect.

Seems like the only logical solution.


The new government under Russian control wouldn't be recognized internationally though, but at least the bombing would stop.


No need in destroying the whole country fighting a war you can't win.


Like I said earlier, Putin doesn't respect all that talk.


The only way he's gonna care about what Ukraine has to say is if they're trying to surrender.

Only way to have Russia end it is to give the world the perception that Putin somehow won. Especially if nobody else is going to put boots on the ground or jets in the air. Maybe that’s a treaty that guarantees Ukarine never joins NATO, maybe it’s more oil contracts to make him richer, idk. The only way he backs down now though is if he’s perceived as winning in some way.

Not that hard to make parallels though.


The diplomatic stance that the U.S. is taking with Putin is similar to how Stringer thought he could deal with Marlo.


Season 3 was all about the parallels between the streets and politics.
