How has he stayed relevant though when he hasn't had a Gold selling album since 2001 that's 17 years since he did Gold numbers

I've never been to a club where they played a Fat Joe song and ladies and dudes were rocking to it. He doesn't have a ''Superman'' ''In Da Club'' ''Hot In Here'' ''Right Thurr'' to do that

His music is very contrived

-Built in big name RnB singer featured hook on the song that comes with the beat that a big name producer produced for him-

-Does nothing but rap bars on verses-

-Has cliche subject matter in his bars about being a Gangster, drug dealer, shooting guns, smashing whores, smoking weed-
 
Joe is a legend and is highly slept on, but "the best"? lol nah

Fat Joe is dope. Hes not a GOAT but hes had a great career, hes an above average lyricist, and hes had great albums. He deserves respect.

His discography is full of below average and decent albums

How has he had a great career when he has only ever had 2 albums in his entire discography that have sold Gold and Platinum? When he has only ever had 3 singles that have peaked in the top 10 on the hot 100. When he has never had a hit without an RnB singer featuring on the hook

He also has never had a number 1 song

He hasn't made 5% the money Diddy, 50 Cent, Eminem, Drake, Birdman, Hov, Nelly, Lil Wayne have from music

On average his albums sell 50K-100K

They prolly helped eachother like most hip hop double acts bro, TBH I dont really think they sound that alike, just they are/were overweight and Latino haha I think lyrically Pun was far superior and humorous, whereas Joe spat more rugged hard NY grimy bars...

There are plenty rappers who aren't top ten but aren't trash. Fat Joe is one of them.

Eminem has the best hooks, hits and melodies

Jay-Z has the best bars technically, guest verses and flow

Dr Dre has the best beats

Busta Rhymes has the best charisma and animation
 
I’ve never been a Fat Joe fan. I’ve liked songs he’s done with other people & listened to his albums, but the big thing he’s the best at is changing with the times. He comes with a single every so often that reflects the sound at that time & it coincides with an album that more often than not fails to live up to expectations. I respect his years in the game & the work he’s put in. That’s as far as it goes for me.
