New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft has been officially charged with first degree solicitation of a prostitute in Florida on Monday.

His scheduled court date is April 24. Kraft does not need to appear; his lawyer can appear for him.

The 77-year-old owner has been charged with soliciting a prostitute in Florida as part of a crackdown on sex trafficking. as a result of a six-month investigation, and more are expected. Ten spas have been closed from Palm Beach to Orlando, and several people charged with sex trafficking have been taken into custody.

Police said they secretly planted undercover cameras in targeted massage parlors and recorded the interactions between men and the female employees.

The individuals named as having solicited prostitutes could be facing either a first- or second-degree misdemeanor for each count. A second-degree charge carries up to a 60-day jail sentence and a $500 fine; a first-degree charge carries up to a year in jail and a $1,000 fine.

Earlier Monday, the NFL said it will handle Kraft's case as it would any other issue under the league's conduct policy.

The NFL said in a statement Monday that its personal conduct policy "applies equally to everyone in the NFL and it will handle "this allegation in the same way we would handle any issue under the policy."

The league said it is "seeking a full understanding of the facts" and does not want to "interfere with an ongoing law enforcement investigation." The NFL said it will "take appropriate action as warranted based on the facts."

Commissioner Roger Goodell could fine or suspend Kraft from any activities involving the Super Bowl champions.

The majority of people don't. That doesn't make them evil, it makes them indifferent, they don't care because it's not something that crosses their mind to think about.

Same for men that buy hoes. They don't care about where they came from or how they got there, what matters is that they're in front of them and ready to perform whatever sex act they're looking for. Whether or not they're part of a human trafficking ring isn't something that crosses their minds.

You can say "he's actively supporting human trafficking" but even if you try to make that case it's not intentional at all. He's not going out specifically looking for the chicks that were brought over here against their will; he's just looking for whatever's available.

What gets me is that sex trafficking needs our attention and action. In this climate, something like this involving a black man would would be way more of a witch hunt. But since its kraft, ppl running to his aid. Smdh. The ESPN female anchor forgot her name, on with SAS and Max earlier, was more concerned about bringing awareness to this shit and how it affect women especially (children and men also) while them other two dickheads were trying to clean up krafts name. I legit felt her frustration.

It sad we are sorta numb to that. Ppl are really being kidnapped and pimped out. I have daughters so I think that made me more sensative to it.

My sons gf about a week or so ago, was on her way home, when she called my daughter scared because some dude was following her in his car and telling her to come here. She was right around the corner so we loaded up, I grabbed the strap bad leg and all and we went around there.

Thankfully she was safe and the guy had left. But it hurt me that she thanked us and said her own family wouldn't have done that and she didnt want to tell her mom cuz she wouldnt care. Shit hurt my heart for real. Theres so many of our kids out here vulnerable like that and these pieces of shit traffickers know it.

We really gotta watch over each other out here.
