RIP DJ Kay Slay AKA THE DRAMA KING

Rest in Power to that man.. He entertained me from radio to mixtapes then to satellite radio.. He was a true Hip Hop legend as DJ.. And for putting various niggas on…

A Hip-Hop legend, the real definition of one. He was Hip-Hop till his last.

I'll never forget, back in '01 during my last year in high school the leaked version of Ether was the one with Kay Slay's tag (at least the one I got at that time).

(Nas, Kay Slay)
Foxy got you hot 'cause you kept your face in her puss
What you think, you gettin' girls now 'cause of your looks? (damn, damn, damn, damn...)
Negro please (DAYUM!)

😂😂

And the one time he son'd the fuckin' life out of DJ Clue on the radio lol.

Rest In Power Drama King!

55 is WAY too young. However, it puts in perspective how much of his life Kay Slay put into hip hop. Dude was a bomber, was featured in one of the first hip hop movies for tagging, one of the first mixtape deejays, dropped decades of exclusives, put on artists spanning from generations... HOF level pioneer ish right there. Kay Slay was hip hop to the core and has been keeping it alive as long as most of us have been living. RIP.

As a Hip Hop head through and through, this shit has gotten progressively sadder and sadder as the day went on. Reading this post and remembering literally all this shit about the man and how he was damn near at the forefront of Hip Hop longer than I've been alive is crazy. I was watching all them Rolling 25, 50, 110 deep videos on YouTube for weeks thinking he was straight. Then to find out he's gone... RIP to the King.
