Netflix Rebel Moon - Part One: A Child of Fire

I thought it was OK... but I'm biased cause I like to test my home theater system and the sound effects in the movie were dope.... so I enjoyed that aspect. The main character is boring to me... she doesn't give the character much depth or anything to grab onto... I expect part 2 will be better

All the characters were dry and some of the scenes just felt rushed. I mean the recruitment of the General was basically just:

Come with us.
No
Come with us!
No!
COME WITH US!
NO!
Come with us...for reasons.
Ok.

True, that and the scene where the pilot asked the farmer to be the one to put down his friends.....that didn't make sense to me. You got em captured, then you put the decision in the hands of the farmer? lol

Yeah, that was stupid. Like there was literally no reason for that. It's not like they established some kind of relationship between the two characters.

Maybe they could have done the story better as a series.
 
With part 1 getting trashed in the reviews I'm surprised he's waiting until the summer to release the directors cut that's supposed to be better
 
He said both directors cuts might get dropped on the same day this summer. I didn't care enough to post it earlier in the day

I’m sure someone has shared this sentiment, but why does it always have to be a director’s cut with this guy? Just make a great movie the first time around, studio interference or not.

It’s like he has this vision and if it isn’t adapted perfectly the result is shit. He’s not the only one who has to deal with studio execs butting in.
 
I don't think it was even him this time lol. Netflix tried to replicate the hype with the JL "Snyder Cut" not taking into account that he stepped away from Justice League cause his child died so he never got to finish the film.

It's really a shameful tactic from Netflix

Before the first film had even released on Netflix, Snyder confirmed that both movies would have R-rated extended cuts. Considering the investment, it made sense that Netflix would be keen on releasing more family-friendly PG-13 cuts, but it was evidently part of Snyder's vision from the start that there would be alternate versions with more violence and darkness. In addition to the violence, however, Snyder has also confirmed that the director's cuts will dive deeper into the Rebel Moon cast of characters.

Ahhh so he's just as culpable for this as Netflix is. Good job, your film was critically panned by critics and the general audience.

You watch this and then you watch Dune and you realize how amateurish this shit was. There's levels
 
Wasn’t that bad to me bad guys are a Nazi ripoff but it wasn’t terrible. Just too many slow down moments like matrix
