FEATURED R Kelly Trial. Guilty, Faces Decades In Prison

You keep saying separate the art from the person...when that person has always been open about how their life has been the inspiration for their music. So by their own admission there's no real separation
Except none of the details of his crimes are even in his art, so how can associate that? Did you associate it with his songs?

No?

Aight then….

That's not what I said

What I said was you are trying to convince people why you still listen to it despite an overwhelming amount of evidence he's a pos. Maybe another synonym like persuade maybe?

No, justify is the word. That's it. Justify
Damn, I actually used justify and niggas latched onto convince lol

No one has done that either. We listen to his music because we like it. Y'all are the people trying to justify why you stopped listening.

Also you're free to live by whatever standards you set for yourself...but that don't mean it's free from criticism from others. You wanna stand on the "I still listen to Seems Like You're Ready" hill then you also gotta be prepared to explain your reasoning...and not with made up terms like manufactured morality

We’re you comparing rape to abuse? Aren’t victims left ALIVE in both cases?

You know what you’re doing….cut that shit out.

No, I wasn't comparing anything to anything. You did that.

Also, yes, they are alive in both cases. Does that mean they are the same? Are any two crimes where the victim is left alive considered the same level of crime?

'Those women that RK violated when they were children are all still alive. That kid who's locker I broke into back in high school is still alive. These are equivalent crimes that should be treated the same in the court of law and public opinion. This was been @Mister B.'s Ted Talk. Drive safely and goodnight.'.

Boy they got a dunce cap with your name on it somewhere.

Yeah a nigga who spent decades sleeping with underage girls while also singing 90% of the time about sex only got inspiration from those over the age of 18. Nothin creepy or suspicious at all about him writing a song called Age Ain't Nothin But A Number for a teenage girl he slept with then later married.

That’s the point.

I shouldn’t have to explain SHIT to anyone. The fuck do I owe anyone ANY explanation for anything I like? Why should anyone explain ANYTHING to anyone else for what they like?

Who anointed you niggas?

No one has done that either. We listen to his music because we like it. Y'all are the people trying to just why you stopped listening.

Saying people have to justify why they're not doing something means there's a desire there to continue. I don't have any urge at all to listen to his music. I grew up with his music just like most people my age did, mid 30s, and it wasn't shit for me to stop.

If Pusha T got indicted tomorrow for drug trafficking, I'm certain you'd just be like 'Listen, we don't know if all those verses were really about the drugs that he was actually trafficking. Sure he rapped about it for 20 years and now has been arrested for it...but he got locked up for trafficking COKE. He was prolly referring to WEED in all them records.'.

I'm CERTAIN of it. SMH.

Sit this one out, B. You're embarrassing yourself.

That's how the world works. People look to whatever people enjoy as a sign of what type of person they are or may be. Somebody likes doing crossword puzzles it's a good chance they enjoy being a wordsmith and people may ask them about it. Somebody enjoys hearing an adult write and sing songs about sex with underage teens...well you can fill in the rest about what people might assume about them.

That's you, I'm going to still listen like I've been doing for damn near 20 years
