Let's be clear. Forgiving and holding to account are two different things. If these people find it in their hearts to forgive the people that wronged them, that's all well and good. Those people should still be held to account though. I don't have a problem with the family forgiving the cops. If that helps them move past the trauma, then whatever works. They shouldn't be saying they don't want the cops to be punished though even if that's what they believe. Let the system do it's job. If those cops were in the wrong, they should be punished just like any other person that commits a crime.
