Velvet and silk durags appear to be easy to order and waaaay cheaper on sites like Etsy.

I'm not mad at her prices, but I question if it's competitive to what's already online.
Pricing is a tricky mistress at times no matter what field you are in.
But, I hope it works out for her.

The market sets itself. If she is still in business selling $40 durags then the cheap ones are vastly undervalued and the price should go up. If she is over pricing them and they are not selling, she will have to adjust her price. Simple.

I wonder if she got more durags with a bill, i need another.

There is a market for overpriced shit. There will always be someone willing to buy something just to say they got it like that. And I have no problem with those people being exploited for their stupidity. I can see if it's something where genuine craftsmanship was involved commanding a higher price but that ain't the case here.

She likely made a deal with a Chinese sweatshop to produce $40 durags on the same line the $5 durags are being produced on, except one has her name on it. To be perfectly honest, @Race Jones, this really isn't as problematic as you're making it out to be. It would be different if she's in the hood selling this shit, but she's in LA on Melrose. I would expect nothing less than fleecing the rich and well to do to happen there.

the "intended audience" buys the affordable, polyester ones for a dollar at the corner store and wont be going to see her

but for the people who are "up", this is a flossy day in time.....custom shit, exclusives, exotic materials, I'll get a lotta likes when I post my receipt from inside the store type shit is whats hot

anyway lets say she's successful...why is that not enough for her (black) family to be doing better? for her (black) kids to have something?
