Folks TKO are not going through the roster and telling or suggesting to Hunter who to cut. They simply inform him that there needs to be cuts and Hunter does the rest lol

lol at TKO knowing who the fuck Alba Fyre is

She got the most locker room & fan support right now so maybe they undo the fuck up n bring her back even tho they claim they dnt pay attention to the internet. Seen it happen 2 times before

Yea her dynamic with asuka was very entertaining and I believe her last match, she had her heart into that.

Zoey deserved another chance too. Always liked her in the ring

that was her second knee injury so that could be why she got the axe. When she was on NXT she tore her ACL and meniscus and missed time. this time it was the ACL, meniscus and her MCL.

i think its a few that might of got cut cause of that

NGL i ain’t expect fans to crash out online over kairi, wyatt sicks, and aleister black being released

i like kairi but she wasn’t that over as a solo act. her association with asuka and iyo helped her big time

aleister came out to negative reactions. zelina’s a good talker but can’t work (yall remember when she botched the 619…so she just kicked chelsea in the face?)

the wyatt’s were just an entrance and fans ain’t gaf once the bell rang

where was this support when they were under contract?

Black is too good of a talent too be wasted like he has. I'm actually befuddled how creative on BOTH companies aren't able to utilize him the way he should

Even tho they were giving him wins and trying to do shit with him I just didnt care for him like I did on his first run. Not sure what changed but he felt outta place. Maybe he would of been better suited on RAW since SD been kinda ass outside of tricks rise

Naw Kairi was very popular & she was one of the better performers on the women’s roster. She never even really had a solo arc. Plus them dropping her before an actual payoff to the Asuka / IYO storyline it’s really not a surprise there’s heavy fan support for her

yeah i hate that we’ll never see a payoff for this
at the same time the fact we haven’t seen the peak of a story they’ve been telling for seven fucking months is absurd

Interesting Q and A question I saw today

Of all the people who got released yesterday, why Aleister Black and Kairi Sane? I was waiting for Kairi''s turn against Asuka for such a long time. And I read that instead of Pat Mcfee, it was Black in the initial writings in Orton's storyline Then what changed?

My feeling is that based on some of the names that were cut, this was about trimming the budget before the next quarterly earnings as opposed to creative for all of them being stalled. If TKO decreed to WWE that it was time to trim the roster, they had no choice but to cut the budget. At that point, it doesn't matter whether they had Sane in a weekly storyline or Black was on the cusp of being in a larger story or Santos Escobar about to get a AAA push, someone had to go. It's entirely possible the decisions were made based on financials. I think there are some who assume Triple H is in the position Vince McMahon used to be, where he was the end all for everything in the company. That's not the case here. He has to answer to his bosses, the same as you or I. If his bosses say this is the deal, he has to deal with it. Anyone who thinks otherwise is being delusional. This is not the old WWE and never will be again. Politically, Levesque doesn't have the ability to do anything he wants.

A huge number of WWE cuts were made on April 24.

The cuts were hugely speculated by talent all week, especially on Friday at 5 PM approached.

A number of talent began to find out around or before 5 PM ET that they were released or their deals would not be extended. At about 5:20 PM ET, we began learning that the releases were in fact happening, after reaching out to WWE officially earlier in the day and not hearing back. We haven't learned specifics on which is which, but that's why the phrase "departures" were used. There was also an internal email sent out to some departments notifying them of the departures.

As Michael Dockins pointed out, these are not 90 day non-competes. The talent are still under contract for this period. This is the 90 day right of termination and requisite notice. For main roster talent, that period is 90 days. For NXT, it's 30. For contract expirations, their deals are simply up when they expire.

There is a lot of talk of TKO making the calls for the cuts. Triple H, Nick Khan and WWE talent relations were ultimately the primary decision makers, per WWE sources.

WWE sources indicated that majority of releases were to make way for new talent, and the possibility of Smackdown reducing to two hours in the near future (a point that was reported by Bodyslam+).

WWE anxiously re-signed Santos Escobar last year, and then never used him on the main roster again. He's injured and will be sidelined for months. This used to be against the company's policy, but has happened a number of times in recent years as Karl Anderson, BJ Ray and Ridge Holland were all released or not extended while they were awaiting clearance. We're told Zoey Stark recently got cleared to return to the ring.

There was a ton of shock to Kairi Sane's release, as she was actively involved in the Asuka and IYO Sky storyline. There was heavy frustration to her being cut before any real payoff to the story was made. She's expected to land in literally any company that she wants to.

A number of NXT releases were also made as new Performance Center signings are expected to be announced soon.
